The Paradox of Manifesting: Balancing Focus & Detachment

Have you yet discovered the paradox of manifesting?

After all, when it comes to the Law of Attraction, many new students quickly realize that manifesting CAN be ridiculously easy, if you practice on “small things.”

Want to try it out yourself? Here are a few easy LOA challenges you can practice:

However, when students fail to manifest something “big” they often want to know why. Why was it so easy for the small stuff, but so hard for the big stuff?

The answer is in the paradox of manifesting.

See the reason why “small stuff” is easy is that people can usually achieve what is needed in manifestation: a balance between focus and detachment.

Manifestation occurs when we are able to focus on our thoughts on a particular idea, item or belief, and simultaneously be detached from how it comes, when it comes and from whom it comes.

Think about it this way. There are some things that you are REALLY good at. Perhaps, unlike me, you are a phenomenal singer. Maybe you dance really well. Perhaps your a genius mechanic, computer programmer, mother, friend or a skilled athlete.

Whatever you are REALLY good at, you have manifested your talent into your life with the Law of Attraction. You have placed a lot of focus on this achievement or skill, which is the first side of the equation.

On the other side of the equation, you are probably VERY detached from worry about whether or not you are “good.” You simply assume you are good at what you are good at, you focus on it, and therefore your skill grows and matures over time.

The same thing is true for all manifestations. There has to not only be focus, but also an air of detachment.

The impossible manifestation.

In other words, it is literally impossible to manifest something you want if you focus on it but constantly worry about whether it is going to come.

It is literally impossible to get something you want when you are looking over your shoulder every few seconds to see if it arrives.

The trick is to focus and let go at the same time, just like with anything you would expect to achieve in life. This is the paradox of manifesting, and it MUST be achieved before any manifestation can occur.

So what does this mean for your goals?

If you’ve been struggling to manifest something significant in your life, take a little bit of time to evaluate how balanced you are with the paradox.

Remember, it is both equally important that you focus AND detach. Sometimes, people fail to manifest because they simply don’t focus. They have a dream, but it’s far off in space and they really don’t take the time to really ask for and imagine their dream coming through to fruition.

More commonly, though, the opposite is true with students of the Law of Attraction. They focus, and focus, and focus, but they are just tooooo attached to the outcome.

If attachment is your issue, learn to recognize when you get into worry wart mentality. When you find yourself wondering “when is it going to come?” “is it here yet?” or “what am I doing wrong?” STOP. Pause, take a breath and distract yourself from this type of attachment thinking.

The more you can train yourself to turn away from attachment thinking, the easier it will be to detach.

Happy manifesting!

XO, Andrea
