She says she couldn’t afford to hire childcare, and that the children were only 30 feet away, and never out of her sight.

The Mystery of the Marfa Lights (Strange Glowing Orbs In Texas)

Tales of these mysterious glowing orbs have been circulating around Marfa for as long as people can remember, with the earliest reports first coming in the late 19th century. The first published account came from the San Angelo Times in 1945, with many more following over the next several decades as interest in the phenomenon grew. Marfa, sensing a tourist opportunity, built the viewing station in 1986. As journalist Michael Hall wrote in his excellent in-depth 2006 piece on the phenomenon, “You didn’t have to believe in UFOs to think that something was out there.”

Gallup Poll Names Top U.S. Cities for Overall Well-Being

From January through December 2014, Gallup-Healthways researchers conducted telephone interviews with a random sample of more than 176,000 adults living in metropolitan areas in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. These areas were defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. Well-being was calculated on a scale of 0 to 100 (where 0 represented the lowest possible well-being and 100 represented the highest). The metric took into account overall well-being, as well as five essential elements of well-being, including daily feelings of purpose, loving relationships, financial security, safety and pride in one’s community, and physical health.
