We have seen the mainstream media characterize various stories about riots and Black-White police interactions in a very polarizing fashion. Because of these stories, it seems that many people believe that 1/2 of the country are virulent racists and the other half are not. Is it a surprise then that we would see more of the same media manipulation in this latest riot in Charlottesville, Virginia. What can we learn about this story, and how can we move forward to racial healing instead of race war?

They arrived with cannons and guns, and quickly built a fort on the coast of this vast, uncharted territory to ward off native people and French settlers. But after 21 years, Spain’s northernmost settlement on the east coast of North America was abandoned , and stood hidden for the next four centuries. Archaeologists announced on Tuesday that they have found the Spanish fort of San Marcos on Parris Island, South Carolina, under what is now a golf course at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.
South Carolina has an Equal Access election law which is now being violated. The state is attempting to deny the Libertarian Party a convention in order to prevent having their candidates on the General Election ballot in 2014. The reason.. the state claims it does not have enough money to comply with equal access law.
