Sagittarius New Moon Brings Lightness & Powerful Soulmate Energy

By Tanaaz | Forever Conscious

Out of the ashes and into the light, this New Moon is going to be helping us to think bigger and open our hearts to a new wave of positive and abundant energy.

The New Moon represents the starting of a new cycle. The last New Moon fell in the watery, intuitive sign of Scorpio. In this cycle we were all encouraged by the Universe to dig deep and uncover hidden emotions in order to release them.

November brings a new cycle however, which will kick into gear on the Sagittarius New Moon, which falls on the 29th. If Scorpio energy was beckoning us to go into the darkness within, Sagittarius energy is going to be beckoning us to stretch out into the light.

We have spent enough time in the darkness and in the shadows and now it is time to re-emerge into the light and start expanding our views and opening our hearts.

November’s New Moon is going to be sending waves of energy that will allows us to see things from a higher perspective and will open our awareness to new realms and new waves of thinking.

Sagittarius energy is electric, positive and most importantly, open minded and all of this energy is going to be on offer to us if we tune into it.

The Sagittarius New Moon is also going to trigger a cycle of awakening. In many ways, we are going to feel reborn and replenished after a long and hard year of cleaning out the metaphorical closets.

2016 has been a year of endings and now we are starting to wind down with the endings so we can make way for the new.

The November New Moon is going to be supporting this cause and it is likely that new and exciting opportunities may emerge around this time, almost like the Universe is offering us a gift.

The Sagittarius New Moon is also going to shift our awareness away from what we have let go of and onto where we are now.

In fact, this New Moon energy is going to be helping us to reflect and celebrate just how far we have come and just how much we have achieved. We all deserve to honor, thank and nourish our souls for the last 11 months.

The New Moon is also going to be highlighting our creative potential to manifest and go after what it is that we really desire.

If there is something that you want to achieve, if there is something you want to change in your life, this New Moon is the perfect time to put plans into place.

This New Moon is going to support you to think bigger, to be optimistic and to focus your attention on the best possible outcome. Aim high and go big on this New Moon, because that Sagittarius arrow is going to be helping you to hit your mark.

The November New Moon is also supercharged for romance and love. If you are single, this New Moon could bring about the perfect opportunity to meet someone special.

If you are in a relationship, bonds may be strengthened or weaknesses may emerge so you can heal and strengthen them for the future.

Soulmate energy is also high around this New Moon, so it is likely that we are going to have a lot more people making Soulmate connections during this time.

On a global level, this is going to help raise the vibration surrounding love, partnership and communication.

Soulmates don’t have to just be romantic; Soulmates can be anyone that comes into your life to awaken and stir your soul.

Scorpio Full Moon (Lunar Beltane) Invites You to Bring Your Darkest Aspects to the Light

Scorpio Full Moon ~ Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 10:25 pm

The word “Revelation,” is defined by Webster as either, “a surprising and previously unknown fact, especially one that is made known in a dramatic way;” or, “the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence or the world.” From this word we also get the word, “reveal,” which means, “make (previously unknown or secret information) known to others.” Both of these words and all three definitions tie in potently to this week’s full moon in secretive, powerful, transformative Scorpio.

While Scorpio rules the shamanic underworld and the deep dark secrets of the individual and collective psyche, the full moon is about illumination. When each sign has its annual three days in the lunar spotlight, the Moon’s karmic, feminine nature is somehow able to coerce each energy to reveal itself. And in turn, we can find revelation in the area ruled by this sign in our lives.

Scorpio is fixed water, originally ruled by Pluto, also connected to Mars, who carried the new moon two weeks ago and is going retrograde as I write. Scorpio is one of the most, if not THE most, intense of all the astrological signs. After all, she is symbolized by the Scorpion with her dangerous sting! Being “fixed water,” we are forced to go deeply into the unconscious emotional realms to find her, if we are willing to look.

The sense I get as we move into mid-spring, is that we are not going to have to try that hard to find our revelation. Something is ready to reveal itself. Just as flowers and babies are bursting forth all around the western hemisphere, the secrets, too, want their time in the sun. The dark emotions and regenerative powers want their opportunity to be seen. And heard. After all, it’s when our desire or grief is truly honored that it can be released. Healing may come with time, but if you never, ever talk about it or look at it, you might be surprised how much it still stings many years later. On the flip side, there are also those grievances we never shut up about that might need to finally be laid to rest, too.

A teacher of mine once said Scorpio is the cycle to “take out the trash.” I have now amended that statement to say that Scorpio is the phase to carry the compost. It is not about sweeping our secrets out from the closet and throwing them in the bin without looking… it is about sorting through scraps, moldy or fresh, cutting them into tiny pieces and then offering them to earth for transformation. Revelation is not always a burning bush or a flash of lightning. Sometimes it is in the quiet moment, hands in filth, or body in water, that the most important wisdom is revealed.

Thursday’s full moon is considered “lunar Beltane” by those that celebrate the wheel of the year. Beltane is the mid point between spring equinox and summer solstice. It is a juicy, fertile, delicious moment. It is also ripe for revelation, became we are so open to receive. Just because it is Scorpio does not mean what is revealed has to “bad.” Scorpio can just as easily show us how to better live in truth or how to step into our power. We might be surprised how much we repress our hopes, as well as our fears.

The key is to just receive. Just as the moon turns herself to the full light of the sun, and shines it at us without apology or exception, we, too, have the chance to stand naked and alive in her glow. Ask her to reveal what ever it is you need at this time, to grow, to heal, to love, to live. To let go. Let us step together into her cool, dark waters and celebrate the revelations of mid-spring.

Leo New Moon Invites You to Surrender, Sacrifice & Grow

Bekah Finch TurnerLeo New Moon ~ Friday, August 14 @ 7:54 am PDT

Good old Merriam Webster defines the word “sacrifice” as “an act of offering to a deity something precious; destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else; something given up or lost.” There was also some language that includes the concept of killing as an offering, and while that translation has been seen in both past and present times, particularly where religion and/or war are involved, today we attempt to focus on the practice of personal surrender for the sake of something else.

But what could sacrifice possibly have to do with the Leo New Moon? Leo, our solar cardinal king, the ruler of the mid-summer, the benevolent, dramatic, shining, all-encompassing fiery one? Well, it is good that you asked. And while I agree it seems to be a weird theme to start the last cycle of summer with, I think, after some meditation, you might find it an appropriate suggestion.

To start, the solar king has always made the major sacrifices. You can look back to the Egyptian Gods, Ra and Horus, or Mithra and the Christan Jesus. Even in today’s world, where the king of the jungle, the Zimbabwean lion, Cecil, lost his life to a hunter just weeks ago. In the Celtic/Pagan wheel of the year, the entire journey of the sun, is one of birth, growth and sacrifice. The Sun King is born at Winter Solstice, grows ups, thrives, loves, and then as we near autumn equinox, he loses his life to the darkness, sacrificing himself, so that one year may die and the next can be re-born.

It is an archetypal and ancient idea. I was also just writing about the underworld descent of the Goddesses in my last musing. Venus is still in retrograde and therefore, we are all feeling this pull now, from the sun, moon and earth, to open ourselves to the possibility of surrendering for a higher purpose.

In myth and journey, sacrifice is seen as the pivotal step in transformation. When Innana stands at the seven gates and gives away her power, only to arrive in Hell weak, hung up and starved. When Jesus offers himself at the cross. When the Sun God is defeated by darkness and he falls away into the abyss. These are the moments when we know what matters. These are the moments when Grace and humility step in. In the case of all three deities, they are re-born, granted new life and new gifts based on their sacrifice. Even the death of the lion, Cecil, has sparked a revolution of awareness.

It seems quite perfect that the Leo New moon comes in so very close to the end of the Leo sun’s actual reign (Virgo season starts on the 23rd) giving us the waxing phase of the moon with the waning phase of the sun cycle to elaborate and illuminate the sacrifices ready to be made in our lives.

Sacrifice sounds scary. It’s usually not fun to have to give anything up, whether it’s caffeine, a lover or a life. But every tradition I am familiar with teaches us that at some point, there is nothing left to do but let go, particularly if we want to move forward. This practice of surrender to the higher source is beyond terrifying to the ego, but extremely liberating for the soul.

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of carrying some of these ego-ic burdens, things like addictions, resentments, fears, doubts, patterns and regret. They’re not joyful qualities. These are the things that really weigh us down and in truth, we’re very attached to them. These are the things that tell us what we believe, what we like, what we want. But it is a selfish gratification and at this point in the game, authenticity needs to be the goal. Can we begin to surrender all that is not aligned with our authentic self?

It is not an easy question to answer; especially if, like me, you are not exactly sure who or what your authentic self is. This is part of the sacrifice. The willingness to let go of things that no longer serve you with the faith that something more will take its place. It is the quintessential, “leap and the net will appear,” which is challenging at the best of times, but even more so when you are jumping into a metaphorical sacrificial flame or down into the underworld.

August 1st marked the mid-point of the summer. Autumn Equinox is September 23rd. This next month, with the sun still strong and brilliant, with light over-powering dark, is the time for you to make sacred and noble sacrifices. This is the time to tune into Lion-like strength, warmth and support, and open yourself to shedding and offering the “powers” that are holding you back. You must be honest. You must be thorough. You must be fearless.

It is not about asking others to make changes, or about forcing our sacrifice on others, as we see in suicide/homicide extremes. It is a personal and inner journey, to your own underworld, where you give away something you hold “precious,” and you turn it all over to something higher. Even the Sun-King has to trust in something greater than himself. Even the mighty Earth Goddess must acknowledge powers other than her own.

As the new moon aligns with the life-giving sun, turn your face and your heart into its glow. Surround yourself with others who are open to letting go and with all the bravery of Innana, the Solar Kings and the King of the Jungle, set the intent to sacrifice. Many religions do this practice at different times, where they fast or give up a habit for 40 days. It can be something like that, something you actually do in the flesh, or it may be an emotional, mental or spiritual surrender. Write it down and then burn it; speak it out and allow the tears or rage to release it. Hold yourself accountable and be noble.

There are times for filling up and there are times for emptying out. 2015 has been a big year of taking things on. As we slowly start to move away from the sun, it is a good time to start letting go, trusting the process and knowing that more will be revealed. With each layer we remove and offer up, more will be revealed. No sacrifice is ever made in vain if it is done with a pure heart and homage to the divine light.

Many blessings and much gratitude for all that we give away to serve the higher purpose,

Gemini New Moon Invites You to Say, “Yes, AND…”

Bekah Finch TurnerGemini New Moon ~ Tuesday, June 16 @ 7:07 am PDT

I could not believe the moon was already in her waning crescent as I caught a glimpse early the other morning on the way to the airport. It seemed as though the Sag full moon was just lighting up the sky, and yet there was the lingering sliver smile of the nearly dark moon. Where have the last two weeks gone? Where have the last six months gone? Summer solstice, the middle of the seasonal wheel, follows the Gemini new moon by mere days this month. Summer solstice marks the climax of our year, and the height of light for our hemisphere. Gemini, whose climax has already passed, is again a whisper in the new moon, before Cancer enters the midsummer realm.

Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, has been retrograded for most of the gem season, and just turned direct on the 11th. It is a slow start to the Mercurial desire for travel, change, communication and transformation, but urgency is now arising to move forward, and the summer solstice only adds to that energy.

We are coming upon a moment when the energy is at its max, when the moon will wax and the sun is high and all is illuminated. In these moments we seek clarity. In these moments we desire truth, revelation, revolution. At this time, we will feel the urge to do something huge and to step into our power in a big way.

And we may not feel as clear as we hoped. And we may still be bouncing the truth around our recently untied tongue. The revelation may be two-sided and the revolution a paradox.

As we enter the solstice and as Gemini, symbol of duality stands upon the new moon altar, my prayer is to embrace the “and.”

This does tie into the “yes” of the sag full moon, but it goes deeper than that. As a Gemini sun, I have long dwelled in the land of the “but.” I like that, but I also like that. I feel this, but I also feel that. It has driven me into insanity more times than I care to admit. I can see both sides, and that sucks. I don’t do well with absolutes or ultimatums and half the time, I confuse myself in any given situation.

I spent the last few weeks on a new journey in a new place. A lot happened there for this Gem sun, including the celebration of my natal birthday. One of the things that was said quite a lot during my time away was “embrace the uncertainty.” Also, “get comfortable with ambiguity.”

Not appealing phrases to a truth seeker. Not attractive to one who just wants the ‘right” answer.

There are no single right answers. There is not one single truth unless it is that truth changes.

So while you may experience strong epiphanies and feel called to make gigantic shifts, also, leave space for the “and.” Let the “and” create a pause between your thoughts and feelings. Let the “and” offer a reprieve to those whose paths do not align with yours, or whose truth is bogglingly different. Let the “and” allow you to be kind to yourself and others when the uncertainty creeps in. Maybe the “and” can be not just a word that compounds a new kind of sentence, but perhaps a symbol for connecting a new kind of world under the summer sun and new moon.

Life is crazy. AND. life is beautiful. Now you try it.

Sending you deepest love on this new moon and many blessings for solstice. May all beings be safe, may all beings be happy, healthy and at ease with the “ands” of our lives.

Virgo Full Moon: Time to Get Grateful and Grounded

Virgo Full Moon: Water & Earth                                                                                       Thursday March 5th at 10:05am PST

It is raining as I write this, something we have not gotten enough of in Southern California in the past year, and something I have grown incredibly grateful for.

Bekah Finch TurnerAs I listen to the sweet sound, I am reminded how much Earth needs water and water  needs earth. Even though this month started with a hybrid Aquarius/Pisces new moon, the sun is now fully in Pisces watery realm and the full moon waxing above will be in the mutable earth sign of Pisces celestial dance partner, Virgo. But even outside of the mutable energy, in astrology, earth is usually paired with water, and fire with air. I think about that sometimes. All of the elements naturally work together and support each other. We need all the elements to full thrive on this planet. But there is a quality to water and earth that brings power, just as it comes to fire and air.

Balance or imbalance, as the dance of human life is always one of pulsation and duality. When water and earth work together as they are right now, Pisces bringing cleansing rain that lulls us into a state of deep dreaming and rest, preparing us as the offering of water into earth; earth as Virgo that is working to awaken for the upcoming spring equinox, full of seed and potential soon to blossom and bring abundance.

But sometimes, we get too much water into earth and seeds drown and lose the soil, mud slides, flood and more can occur, devastating the crops and endangering the harvest. Or, there is not enough water, and the earth is dry, brittle, unable to find the fecundity needed to bring life forth. We experienced that drought last year, and it was frightening and humbling.

It is a delicate dance and one we have little control over, as Pisces teaches. Pisces is the last and oldest of all the signs, and she shows us the importance of surrender and higher source. Ruled by Neptune, which can activate our psychic intuition or fog up the mind, Pisces water is a flow that needs its partner.

Virgo, as an earth sign ruled by Mercury, is a unique vibration. I used to question what mutable earth means, anyway? How can earth, that which is meant to be solid, also be mutable? Another Pisces teaching, nothing is what it seems. And in Virgo’s case, it’s mutability is explored through the human body, another seeming solid form that is constantly evolving, or through sand, which was once stone, and now slides through fingers, reminding us that we are all changing all the time. What is it that turns stone to sand? Water.

Virgo is the healer, ruling the energy of the body, Virgo is the karma yogi, she who is of service, who offers herself to the strength of the water to be molded and shifted into what spirit needs her to be. Virgo is a mystery, her name coming from the word Virgin, which actually refers to the truth that she belongs to herself. She is whole unto herself, even though she is always changing. She is also allied with the critic, the perfectionist, which can happen if she is not able to act in service, to belong to herself or to be in relationship with the healing waters that are part of her dance.

The month ahead has many more offerings for us, particularly on the the 20th where a new moon/total solar eclipse and spring equinox occur. When the Virgo full moon peaks, it is our chance to get grounded, get grateful and get into action in the spirit of service and change. The Virgo healing starts within, so cleansing your body and home is a great opening. If Pisces has you drowning, get out onto the earth or onto a yoga mat to dry out a bit. If you are feeling like you are lacking the Piscean connection, allow water to join your full moon ritual through taking a steam or soaking in a tub. Virgo likes action and especially with her hands. She is happiest in motion, so stretch, swim, touch, write, weed, clean, etc, etc. As long as you do it with the intention of healing service, the movements will be intuitive and guided.

As challenges and changes arise, remember that under the Pisces sun, we are all one, and it is all an illusion. And under the Virgo moon, though you feel the separateness and stability of your body, mind and the earth, the unity and balance is available to you, through service and healing. And if either of those words are too abstract for you, ask that giant early spring moon how you can be of service to bring about healing for yourself and the world. Ask it to the water, the moon, the earth and as you drift off to dream.

I pray for the continuing cleansing blessings of water, and for the abundance, beauty and healing of earth. I pray for the balance within, without, above and below of the elements as we humble ourselves through the last weeks of winter and head into the new season. Happy full moon!

New Moon Magic: Why You Should Be Aware of The Moon’s Cycles

Editor’s Note: Yogi-Shaman Author, Bekah Finch Turner, writes a bi-weekly column called “Tune Into The Moon” that helps you understand every new and full moon.

by Molly Hall | About.com

When the Moon is new, the Luminaries — the  Sun andMoon — are aligned in the same Zodiac sign.  That makes it a charged time with concentrated energies of that sign.  A New Moon is a symbolic point of attention, and a symbolic portal for new beginnings.

New Moons are a great time to set intentions for things you’d like to create, develop, cultivate, make manifest. There are many ways to initiate this communion with the Universe from lighting a candle to elaborate rituals. What matters is that you’re committing yourself to your vision, and open to receiving guidance, healing, support from Spirit.

Why Follow the Moon?

When you tune into the Moon’s phases, it’s reassuring to know that there are many chances during the year to tap into lunar energy. Like the tides, the Moon ebbs and flows, a rhythm that women understand intimately. New Moons are a blank page on which to speak your dreams out loud, andFull Moons are for taking action and celebrating the fruit of your efforts.

In the chaotic and temporal world, looking to something larger that is also part of yourself can fill you with awe and make you feel connected. For whatever path you’re on, opening to working with planetary energies links you to the power of the divine.

Preparing for the New Moon

It’s a good idea to spend some time reflecting in the days leading up to the new Moon. Knowing exactly what you want to draw into your life is not always easy.

Saturday’s Full Gemini Moon ~ Bridge Your Mind & Spirit and Sow Seeds for the New Year

bekah finch turner

Gemini Full Moon ~ Saturday, December 6, 2014 @ 4:27am PST

My first shaman teacher spoke of the greatest challenge for healers being the ability to have one foot in each world. The worlds being the realm of spirit and the physical realm.

I have pondered this challenge over the last decade and as 2014, a particularly difficult year to remain centered, moves into it’s final cycle, I find myself relating to it in a new way.

For one, I no longer equate the physical world, mother earth, with the material. The natural world actually exists quite harmoniously with the spirit world. The disconnect is with the mind-made material world, the one we have created and agree is in existence. I feel certain my teacher also understood this distinction, but it has taken me this long to sense the subtle difference.

Sagittarius, the ruler of the current month, is fire, spirit. Her partner in the astro dance is Gemini, air, mind. Few signs flourish in modern times like Mercury’s Lady Gem. She is the quick moving, loading, processing internet and online worlds. She is faster travel and new ideas and words and meetings and networking and communicating and cars and all the shiny technology this age can muster. Being mental energy and mutable air, she can finally fully embody her quicksilver-like style and play the muse to all inquiring minds.

Unfortunately, being the sign of duality, her flip side is the more obsessed we get with the mind made possibilities, the deeper the separation to the physical and spiritual realms. We see this with climate change, the chasm between rich and poor, power struggles and the decreasing global empathy as our time is spent inside on gadgets rather than face-to-face.

But Gemini, being mutable air and mind is never set in stone.

And as the cold December full moon waxes in the sky, amidst Venus’ return from the underworld and other sacred celestial alignments, we have a sweet opportunity to find the balance between Sagittarius’ soulful fire and Gemini’s beautiful mind.

It comes back, always, always and always again, to our choice, where we place our power and intention.

Choose to align your spirit and mind with the earth. Choose to use your unique privilege and mental gifts to better sense the magic all around us. Every tool needed to heal ourselves, each other and the planet is already with us. Some are present in the material plane and simply need to be seized by the like-minded collective, others are whispering around in your dreams, in your head, waiting for you to make them happen.

Gemini’s talents are limitless and so are yours. Together, your mind and spirit can weave together and manifest a world where you are wildly happy, and that happiness, born of the union between mind and spirit, can bring joy to the world; and isn’t that the message of the season?

On this full moon, let your mind open into your spirit. Stand on the earth and ask for the wisdom and ability to balance in all worlds. Breathe into your body, breath being the bridge between realms, and see what vision the moon unfolds.

Be bold, dream big, as is Sagittarius’s game. Let your mind wander in the spirit world, trusting the ideas that start to download, even if they seem wild. As long as at their center they bring love to you and the planet, and are in line with your spiritual path, you can let Gemini do her thing and make them into something the mind can manifest.

It’s still winter, not quite time to take big action, but it is the moment for choosing seeds for the next year, and beginning to plant them as the sun returns at solstice.

The only thing limiting us as humans and as a species are our minds. And yet, when linked to our spirit, it is the only thing that can free us and unite us.

Blessings for a profound and potent full moon,
