Recent studies have found that habitual coffee drinking actually affects our DNA. But how exactly? Well, it's complicated.

Studies have shown that coffee can break your DNA or keep it from being broken – depending upon when the coffee hits your DNA.

One study found that spontaneous DNA breaks were less likely with people who drank dark roast coffee.
