“The gesture of the amorous embrace seems to fulfill, for a time, the subject’s dream of total union with the loved being: The longing for consummation with the other…” – Roland Barthes

Jason Silva (Shots of Awe) slows down a bit in this video to get sweet and melancholy about the great yearnings and possibilities of BIG, romantic, Romeo and Juliet type love. He warns us against the cynical reduction of love to a mere series of chemical reactions and reminds us that true love is much more than a cocaine-type reaction. It’s a soul’s yearning to unite with another and to experience “that moment, those goosebumps, that tenderness.”
