Flying Cars Are REAL: Here Are The Top 3 Models To Keep Your Eye On

1. The AeroMobil 3.0

This vehicle acts like a traditional car combined with a traditional small plane. Before it takes off, it spreads it’s wings and takes off with horizontal speed just like any other plane – and yes, it lands pretty traditionally too. AeroMobil is continually putting out new models with this latest one looking much more stable and speedy than their 2.5 model.

2. Terrafugia Flying Car

In case you were wondering, “terrafugia” means “escape from land” in Latin. And that’s just what this car does! Similar to the AeroMobil, the Terrafugia is a traditional car and airplane combination with the usual horizontal speed-induced take off of an airplane, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that you must have a Sport Pilot certificate to fly it.

3.    Moller Sky Car

The Moller Sky Car is considerably different than the AeroMobil or Terrufugia in that it hovers and takes offvertically. It’s creator, Dr. Paul Moller (who successfully created and flew a flying saucer in the 1970s) has convinced investors to give him millions over the years to create the ultimate flying car. He's interested in creating a vehicle that is more than just a hybrid of the cars and planes we have now. His car has a far more “sci-fi” feel than the others.

“Mark my word: A combination airplane and motorcar is coming. You may smile, but it will come.” –Henry Ford, 1940
It’s safe to say that Henry Ford was a bit ahead of his time when he predicted the creation of flying cars. Now, though, they are no longer a thing of science-fiction, but real and getting better all the time.
