Feeling Uptight Lately?

“We never know how good we are until we are called to rise.”
Emily Dickenson

They say creative endeavors are always great ways to alleviate stress — whether it's painting, woodwork, crafting, gardening or music (or whatever else tickles your creativity bone).  But how about a little color therapy?  The fantastic thing is anyone can do it!

I used to draw fantasy pictures when I was younger (in my teens) to relieve anxiety or tension and it really worked. I recently found myself reverting back to it again and it helped me to unwind (I have included 2 of these sketches below for you to test the color therapy waters with).

Therefore I'm going to make today's blog short sweet and to a very colorful point (hopefully the point of your pencil crayon!)…go on and dust off your crayons, khoki's or paints and unleash your inner child!

Get In-Touch With Your Inner Sense (Innocence)!

So, if you've been feeling a little anxious or stressy lately, I urge you to try out color therapy — it's free and fun. All you have to do is print out the pictures below and splash your unique version of hue onto it.

Let the inner child out to have some fun, why don't you?! And while you're at it, get grandma/grandpa, your spouse, friends and/or colleagues or your eager little ones to all join in.  You can make it something fun to do this weekend.

Make it an event and put on some beautiful, soothing classical music, light your incense and zen out!

Be a Show Off

Once you have completed your masterpiece, why not e-mail me the finished version (cheriedirksen@yahoo.com)?  I would love to see the final product and I plan to put them all together in a blog for the whole wide world to see (you can remain anonymous or let the globe know who the genius is behind the crayons! You call the shots).

So, readers — young and old, male or female — feel free to print these out and get to work on making it pop with life as you give it your personal artistic touch (hover your cursor over the picture and then right-click and save so you can print it out at your convenience):
