Profile High School, Principle, Courtney Vashaw  has always taught her students to be compassionate, caring people, and clearing they were listening. Less than one week after Vashaw announced that she was battling an aggressive form of cancer, the senior students at her school unanimously voted to donate their entire senior trip fund of $8,000 to her for treatment expenses.

The video above is a live recording of their donation announcement to her. Clearly, Vashaw is both surprised and touched by the unsolicited gesture.

The students had been planning to head to Rydin-Hy Ranch Resort in the Adirondacks with the money. But as class treasurer Ian Baker explained to WMUR News, “[Our principal]'s just very caring, very self-less and we wanted to be selfless, too.”

The seniors are not stopping with this grand gesture either. They say they plan to hold more fundraisers for their principle as she continues through her cancer treatment.
