Chimpanzee Debate: Should Animals Have Human Rights?

Chimpanzees were given human rights for the first time in US history by Supreme Court Justice Barbara Jaffe who ruled that two captive chimps, Hercules and Leo, were covered under habeas corpus. However, the New York judge has since issued a revised version of the court order with the writ of habeas corpus removed.  Jo Ankier and John Fenoglio of Lip News discuss the story.

    freedom and respect…..AS GOD INTENDED THEM TO BE!

    All animals should have rights. They are all living beings they have souls! We as humans act like we are the only things, creatures out there that have feelings ect, ect. Its not fair or right for us to just think its ok for us to do whatever we want to animals. For us to think we own them all! I hope that one day soon people will open their eyes and realize animals should and deserve rights just as we do!
