If Football Were Canceled, Would America Go Insane?

Jon Rappoport, Guest Waking Times

College football is a frenzy of student fans and local supporters, who in some cases extend to a whole state (e.g., Alabama).

The players are heavily recruited, and most of them hardly qualify as “student-athletes.” They’re at the school to play football and they hope to enter the NFL, where the money is.

The players make extraordinary amounts of $$ for the colleges, but none for themselves (excluding under the table cash and gifts).

The illusion is: the players are part of the college or university.

They’re not. They’re budding professionals who, because of the rules, aren’t paid salaries or bonuses.

But the fans think of them as “their own.”

“The players on my team are mine. They’re my school.”

No. Not really.

But no one cares. Through a combination of idol worship and “school spirit,” the illusion holds.

And holding that symbol in the mind is everything.

A loss on a Saturday afternoon is like a rebuke from a priest who supposedly holds the keys to the gates of heaven.

And what about school spirit? What does that actually mean?

If a student is there to learn, does he automatically develop pride in his college? How does that follow?

There are, in fact, a whole series of illusions that pile up. Some students, after graduation, donate money to their alma mater. For years on end. They become boosters. They join alumni associations. They come back for football games and wear school colors.

The football players come and go. They are the college’s hired guns, on zero salary.

Consider the situation at U Cal Berkeley. Recent insane politics aside, the school had to renovate its football stadium, because the State Regents determined it was “seismically unsafe.” It sits on an earthquake fault. The project blossomed out to a 300-400 million-dollar effort, depending on whose estimate you believe.

The chief minds at Berkeley asserted that a major football program was essential to corralling future donations and philanthropy. The University’s overall budget wouldn’t be met without those donations.

Now, with the new stadium, college officials are trying to figure out how to pay off the long-term debt. Lawyers, financial wizards, and faculty argue about that. “Our plan is foolproof.” “Our plan is a hideous unworkable mess.”

Must have football, though, come hell or high water.

That’s called a bind.

If securing philanthropic gifts to the University depends on maintaining a high-profile football program, it’s a testimony to the mental status of the donor alumni. What did they really learn while they were there as students?

Were the illusions of team, spirit, hired hands (the players), wins and losses on the field their main takeaways from four years of education?

As the NFL kneeling story expands, some teams’ fans, enraged, are burning their jerseys. Their identification with “team” was total, and so the downside is bitter. The players wouldn’t stand for the National Anthem and the flag. Betrayal. The team was supposed to be patriotic. But they aren’t.

Lack of patriotism cancels out total undying fan loyalty.

How shallow are those ideals?

Many of those enraged fans have been paying tax dollars that helped build the stadiums their holy teams are playing in. That’s an acceptable trade-off?

What would happen if, magically, football in America disappeared overnight? Would the whole country go stark raving mad?

Is identifying with a team that powerful?

“My life and sanity depend on having a team to root for. If you take that away from me, I’m lost. I have nothing left.”

What’s wrong with having heroes to look up to? Well, the whole idea of having a hero is: inspiration for the individual, so he, like his hero, can dream his own dreams and rise up and strive to achieve something great in his own life. If it turns out the inspiration isn’t there, and the striving isn’t there, and hero worship is the entire story, now and forever, then illusion is king.

There are football illusions and political-leader illusions and religious illusions and romantic illusions. They all share the same element: “I give you everything and I have nothing.”

“The power I give to you could be my own, but it isn’t. I surrender it. I invest it all in you. I wouldn’t know how to use it myself.”

On the great gridiron, the teams march up and down, the heroes execute dazzling plays, they kneel for the Anthem or they stand up and salute, they protest or they don’t protest, and whatever they do triggers automatic reactions in the fervid parishioners in the stands and at home. And the meaning of this Pavlovian exchange is meaningful and profound.

Or so we’re told.

Alabama won this week. The Dallas Cowboys won. I’m inside the pearly gates. I’m walking on clouds. But next week, we will once again “mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our Sacred Honor,” in the hope we will succeed.

We pray for that success.

THIS is what we kneel for.

Geostorm – Hollywood Introduces Weaponized Weather and Geoengineering to a Dumbed-Down Public

Buck Rogers | Waking Times

It’s hard to tell sometimes if art is imitating life, or vice versa. Add to that the fact that we live in a world heavily manipulated by a massive deep state apparatus with unlimited funding to experiment with the weaponization of any and all technology, and you may find yourself wondering if the big screen is trying to send you a wake up call.

“In the future, the technology that controls the weather controls the world.” ~Geostorm

Following in the footsteps of flicks like Independence Day and Armageddon, a new apocalypse-themed, big-budget movie introduces the concept of weaponized weather to the general public. Geostorm, a Warner Brothers and Skydance production coming to the theaters in October of 2017, pitches the classic hero-father against the technology of geoengineering and weather modification.

“After an unprecedented series of natural disasters threatened the planet, the world’s leaders came together to create an intricate network of satellites to control the global climate and keep everyone safe. But now, something has gone wrong — the system built to protect the Earth is attacking it, and it’s a race against the clock to uncover the real threat before a worldwide geostorm wipes out everything…and everyone along with it.” [Source]

The film appears to blend an assassination plot on the president with climate change hype, geoengineering technology, terrorism, mass murder and swashbuckling hero-violence. In one trailer for the film, a Democratic U.S. President tells the world, “Thanks to a system of satellites, we can control our weather.”

“We built this system of satellites to stop natural disasters,” says another character. “This wasn’t some malfunction,” says the leading lady, to which actor Gerard Butler replies, “Someone intentionally did this.”

The preview continues with the following dialogue, which pretty much sums up the current line of thought by independent researchers and analysts who’ve been working for years to expose these weather manipulation programs as technologies of control.

“We built this system of satellites to stop natural disasters. Someone is using it to create them.”

“There’s potential for catastrophic weather events on a global scale. A geostorm!”

“Someone has turned the system into a weapon.”

To build upon the theme of fictionalizing well-documented plans to control global population with all-powerful government programs, Geostorm even features heavily armed United Nations troops in blue helmets coming to the rescue of devastated civilian populations.

Media like this continues the work of normalizing government weather modification, presenting them as necessary evils in a time when human beings are in peril of being consumed by an angry planet. It’s man vs. nature of the highest order.
It’s all fun and games, of course, just entertainment, unless you pit this material against the ever-growing body of public evidence that weather control systems of this nature are already being developed and are in use in our world today. They are slowly being introduced to the public in the mainstream media, framed as survival tools.
Recently, physicist Dr. Michio Kaku acknowledges the plan to fire trillion watt lasers into the sky to control the weather.

The System’s Agenda to Promote the Darkness – Was the Solar Eclipse One Example?

Dr. Maree Batchelor, MD sheds light on the shadow of reality.
Weighs in on the recent eclipse, artificial intelligence, reincarnation and more.

solar eclipse

Just after the historical solar eclipse in the U.S. which occurred on August 21, 2017, one mainstream news channel’s headline read, “America Cheers the Darkness.”

Despite the myriad theories about the positive significance of such an unprecedented event, there are some who feel that both solar and lunar eclipses are indeed harbingers of doom – a brief period that presages tumultuous times to come.

Though I certainly can’t say for sure what the implications of such occurrences are, admittedly I questioned the wall to wall coverage of what has been called “The Great American Solar Eclipse,” – heavily pushing the masses’ participation in looking up to witness the darkness.

When I posed this possibility to Australian physician, energy healer, and DNA activator Dr. Maree Batchelor, she too questioned the motive.

“I started to think, Wow, is this eclipse really something positive for us in the way that it’s being portrayed? And is there an agenda here to get us involved to embrace the darkness? Is [this eclipse] having an effect on us that is negative? I haven’t come to any definite conclusion, but I’m certainly open to the fact that the way we were led to deal with it may have not been in the most positive for us as a species,” Batchelor said.

In fact, Maree Batchelor is not only open to looking at the shadow side of our 3D reality, but has increasingly committed herself to investigating this dark agenda as a means to help people rid themselves of the shadow in order to heal and bring out the light.

“When you look at the GMO foods, the chemtrails, the vaccines, you can see the patterns here, then the puzzle starts to make more sense.  When you look at all sides of this…and being aware of [the shadow] makes it possible to overcome it and start to embody these frequencies [of light].”

And that is where she has anchored her work with patients for the last several years. Her healing practice focuses on the DNA level to clean, clear and activate her patient’s full potential. This releases past life karma and trauma, dysfunctional family lineage patterns and the effects of the conditioned matrix we all live in today. Her work is multidimensional and consists of energetic counselling and hands-on healing.

Stated boldly on her website, is simply – I am here to wake people up!

But it was her own wake up call in 2008 that came after an unimaginable tragedy in which she lost her four year old son after being hit by an underage and out of control driver while the family was out on a leisurely walk.

What followed was not only a period of sustained grief, but of enlightenment as she felt that her son’s death also had a profound message. One that led her to a new path and purpose to her life. And once this path began to take shape, so did the challenges on a scale unfathomable to many.  (Listen as she shares the complete story of her journey in an interview with Alfred Lambremont Webre).

Now that she feels she’s past a major litmus test in her life, she’s clear that her purpose is to help others wake up to the light and also the shadow.

In our interview we discussed this “shadow agenda” at great length, including the role of artificial intelligence and nanotechnology in usurping human potential. The reincarnation cycle and so-called karma. And what the real cause of autism may be all about.

Listen to my interview with Maree Batchelor

So whether the solar eclipse frenzy was simply an innocent media hype to witness something rare or something far more sinister, Maree’s advice is clear – it’s time to wake up and be aware of the shadow if we’re ever going to come into our own amazing light!

MSM Repeats Same WMD Lies As In Iraq To Lay Groundwork For Military Action In Syria

By Brandon Turbeville | Activist Post

After six years of propaganda, false narratives, and hysteria by Western governments and their media mouthpieces regarding the push for direct war with Syria, it seems the Western narrative is now shifting to the tried-and-true method that proved itself during the second invasion of Iraq in 2003. That is, that Syria still has chemical weapons even after allowing inspectors into the country and that its “weapons of mass destruction” are being used against civilians. It’s a tired bit of propaganda but, unfortunately, like most propaganda narratives, it works on many Americans.

For that reason, a number of corporate press outlets have posted a volley of articles containing headlines such as Anthony Deutsch’s (of the recent “I saw a list but couldn’t tell if it was real or not but will report it as if it is proof Assad is killing his own people” report) Reuters piece entitled “How Syria Continued To Gas Its People As The World Looked On.” The article is nothing more than a laundry list of disproven claims, suspect sources, and outright fabrications collected to present a case for Assad’s “killing his own people” with “chemical weapons.”

The article contains a number of accusations against the Syrian government that, if believed, would send a signal to many gullible Reuters readers that Assad is not only holding back on Syrian chemical weapons supplies but that he is still using them on a regular basis.

For instance, Deutsch writes,

In the spring of 2015 a Syrian major general escorted a small team of chemical weapons inspectors to a warehouse outside the Syrian capital Damascus. The international experts wanted to examine the site, but were kept waiting outside in their car for around an hour, according to several people briefed on the visit.

When they were finally let into the building, it was empty. They found no trace of banned chemicals.

“Look, there is nothing to see,” said the general, known to the inspectors as Sharif, opening the door.

So why were the inspectors kept waiting? The Syrians said they were getting the necessary approval to let them in, but the inspectors had a different theory. They believed the Syrians were stalling while the place was cleaned out. It made no sense to the team that special approval was needed for them to enter an empty building.

The article goes on and on about inspectors being “stalled” outside chemical weapons facilities while the evil Syrian soldiers allegedly (with no evidence) began “emptying out the buildings” of their alleged chemical weapons stock. The delay in entering the facility, while irritating for the inspectors, was evidence of existing chemical weapons being hidden by Syrian military soldiers (who apparently didn’t know to move them from these facilities beforehand) by the Western corporate media and some pro-imperialist United Nations staff. That’s a lot to infer by a hold up at a secure military installation.

Of course, the most likely reason for the delays have more to do with security concerns, since Syria is a country at war and since both Western and United Nations organizations have been much less than trustworthy during the course of the conflict. Despite Western assumptions that Syria roll out the red carpet and serve U.N. employees the finest red wines and cheeses the country has to offer, there are important details such as ensuring that the individuals who are about to enter sensitive military facilities are indeed who they say they are instead of intelligence agents from hostile countries.

Deustsch writes,

They [unnamed weapons inspectors and unnamed diplomatic sources] suspect that President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, while appearing to cooperate with international inspectors, secretly maintained or developed a new chemical weapons capability. They say Syria hampered inspectors, gave them incomplete or misleading information, and turned to using chlorine bombs when its supplies of other chemicals dwindled.

There have been dozens of chlorine attacks and at least one major sarin attack since 2013, causing more than 200 deaths and hundreds of injuries. International inspectors say there have been more than 100 reported incidents of chemical weapons being used in the past two years alone.

“The cooperation was reluctant in many aspects and that’s a polite way of describing it,” Angela Kane, who was the United Nation’s high representative for disarmament until June 2015, told Reuters. “Were they happily collaborating? No.”

“What has really been shown is that there is no counter-measure, that basically the international community is just powerless,” she added.

Kane’s statement echoes that of Carla Del Ponte, the U.N. Prosecutor who recently announced her resignation over frustration with the inability of the United Nations to more adequately assist in the destruction of the Syrian government. Kane is notably a member of the European Leadership Network, funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, two foundations which have worked tirelessly to advance the Anglo-American corporate financier agenda throughout the Western world and beyond.

Indeed, it appears both Kane and Del Ponte are simply repeating their lines of frustration at not being able to rush in with guns blazing in a jaunt of humanitarian bombing. Fortunately, however, it is not Assad who is leaving, but two frustrated women in the United Nations, at least one with a history of bullying and intimidating witnesses for political purposes.

Nevertheless, Deustch continues on with his propaganda article citing a number of “details” being provided to him by “investigators and diplomatic sources.” They are listed as follows with some commentary below.

Deustch writes,

Syria’s declarations about the types and quantities of chemicals it possessed do not match evidence on the ground uncovered by inspectors. Its disclosures, for example, make no mention of sarin, yet there is strong evidence that sarin has been used in Syria, including this year. Other chemicals found by inspectors but not reported by Syria include traces of nerve agent VX, the poison ricin and a chemical called hexamine, which is used to stabilise sarin.

First, hexamine is a common chemical which can be used for many purposes. It is not a chemical weapon of mass destruction any more than chlorine. Likewise, ricin is also common and, while often used in terrorist attacks, it is not a chemical weapon that would be used by governments except perhaps in some type of intelligence operation and/or targeted assassination. Second, the author of the article is working on the supposition that all chemical weapons present in Syria belong to the Syrian military. Of course, the Western-backed terrorists maintain a relatively large stockpile of chemical weapons as well. Some of these weapons have possibly been provide to them by their supporting nations such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the United States while others have been stolen from the Syrian military in areas conquered by the terrorists. Others still have been locally manufactured by terrorists who have seized control of chemical production facilities.

Thus, the fact that sarin gas was used in Syria does not mean that the government is in possession of it nor does it mean that the government used it. It simply means that it was used. (There are also doubts as to whether or not sarin was actually used in the attacks that took place earlier this year.) This is the case for all of the chemical agents mentioned in the article – their existence within Syria does not equal possession and use by the Syrian government.

Deustch continues,

– Syria told inspectors in 2014-2015 that it had used 15 tonnes of nerve gas and 70 tonnes of sulphur mustard for research. Reuters has learned that inspectors believe those amounts are not “scientifically credible.” Only a fraction would be needed for research, two sources involved in inspections in Syria said.

This determination is somewhat subjective since research could indeed involve large amounts of chemical gasses. Researching weaponization of the gasses is not the only application that might call for the possession of the material, however. The ability to survive chemical attacks launched against one’s people is also necessary, i.e. the development of antidotes and treatments to the mustard and nerve gasses listed above. After all, Syria has reason to believe it may one day be the victim of a chemical weapons attack. It borders the mad dog of the Middle East who unofficially but openly maintains facilities for the manufacture and production of chemical weapons. It also has a reputation for attacking a wide variety of countries in the region on a regular basis. Still, there were no articles by Anthony Deustch about Israel’s chemical and biological weapons program nor did Del Ponte or Kane resign over the U.N.’s “impotence” in preventing Israel from obtaining these chemicals and biological agents.

Deustch writes,

– At least 2,000 chemical bomb shells, which Syria said it had converted to conventional weapons and either used or destroyed, are unaccounted for, suggesting that they may still be in the hands of Syria’s military.

Or they could have been used on the battlefield as Syria’s military claims. Syria is, after all, in the midst of one of the most intense wars of the 21st Century. It is completely believable that every single bomb shell may not have a paper trail and a tracking number.

– In Damascus, witnesses with knowledge of the chemical weapons programme were instructed by Syrian military officials to alter their statements midway through interviews with inspectors, three sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.

If one were to believe the claims being made by the “three sources with direct knowledge of the matter” and reported by Reuters, this would not be the prime example of honesty. However, neither is a U.N. “unbiased” prosecutor who enters the fray with the idea that Assad is the “bad guy.” Still, this is nothing more than a “he said she said” claim and, given the reputation of Reuters, Deustch, Western diplomats, and U.N. personnel, one would be justified in not simply believing the accusations being made here.

But the claims’ truthfulness are very much in doubt. Even the head of the OPCW couldn’t and wouldn’t agree with Deustch or Kane’s attempts to present the Syrian situation as Syrian defiance of the U.N. At best, he conceded that there were some discrepancies in an ongoing process. Deustch writes,

The head of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the international agency overseeing the removal and destruction of Syria’s chemical weapons, conceded serious questions remain about the completeness and accuracy of Syria’s disclosures.

“There are certainly some gaps, uncertainties, discrepancies,” OPCW Director General Ahmet Uzumcu, a Turkish diplomat, told Reuters.

But he rejected criticism of his leadership by Kane and some other diplomats. Kane told Reuters that Uzumcu should have turned up the pressure on Syria over the gaps in its reporting and done more to support his inspectors. Uzumcu countered that it was not his job “to ensure the full compliance” of treaties on chemical weapons, saying that the OPCW was mandated to confirm use of chemical weapons but not to assign blame.

Syria’s deputy foreign minister, Faisal Meqdad, insisted that Syria was completely free of chemical weapons and defended the country’s cooperation with international inspectors.

“I assure you that what was called the Syrian chemical weapons programme has ended, and has ended with no return. There are no more chemical weapons in Syria,” he told Reuters in an interview.

Deustch then returns to the 2013 Ghouta chemical weapons attack which was blamed on Assad by the governments attempting to oust him but was actually the work of the terrorists funded and directed by the United States and its allies. Deustch is even forced to admit that the 1,300 tonnes of chemical weapons declared by Syria – the same amount that was previously estimated by the international communities’ experts – was shipped out of Syria and destroyed. In other words, the chemical weapons Deustch is intentionally presenting as still being inside Syria are gone. They have been destroyed. Chemical weapons no longer exist in Syria except for areas that are held by terrorists. For that, Deustch and his frothing friends at the U.N. should look at the United States, NATO, GCC, and Israel.

Deustch then attempts to blame the lack of smooth investigations into the Ghouta attack on the Syrian government by implication. But the sniper fire came from terrorists and the time limit imposed for investigation was due to the fact that the Syrian military was undergoing significant strain in order to protect the U.N. team attempting to investigate the situation. In 2014, in Kfar Zita, a U.N. convoy was hit by mortar and gunfire. Members of the team were held by “unidentified gunmen,” i.e. terrorists. Deustch cleverly tries to imply that the gunmen may have been Syrian soldiers or agents of the Syrian government. Perhaps Deustch has been living too long in the West where proper soldiers and terrorists are becoming different wings of the same military.

Still, Deustch accuses the Syrian government of intentionally hampering the work of investigators by “withholding visas, submitting large volumes of documents multiple times to bog down the process, last-minute restrictions on site inspections and coercing certain witnesses to change their stories during interviews.” As mentioned earlier, Syria is an active war zone. Contrary to Western sentiments of open borders, Syria still requires visas and visa approval for entry. This visa approval can take time since it is imperative not to allow Western or Israeli intelligence agencies to enter sensitive military facilities. Secondly, it is quite amusing to see these “sources” claim Syria is attempting to hamper their investigations by giving them too many documents. Likewise, since the U.N. itself, via Carla Del Ponte, has repeatedly “coerced witnesses to change their stories,” it would perhaps be wise if the U.N. didn’t throw stones while living in its glass house.

Deustch then retreats to simply repeating Western propaganda verbatim as he claims that the Syrian military has dropped hundreds of chlorine “barrel bombs.” None of this has ever been proven. What has been proven, however, is that the terrorists have been delivering chlorine bombs and other chemical weapons from the air for some time via the infamous “Hell Cannon.”

It should also be mentioned that earlier reports of the OPCW report were clear that, what little evidence did exist regarding the chemical attacks, had more hallmarks of having been the handiwork of America’s terrorists.

In March, 2013, after Khan al-Assal was attacked by the death squads using what appeared to be chlorine gas, it was reported by Alex Thomson of The Telegraph that the likelihood of the chemicals having been used by the Syrian government was quite low. Instead, it was the death squads (aka “rebels”) who were heavily implicated in the attack. Thomson wrote,

The Syrian military is said to believe that a home-made locally-manufactured rocket was fired, containing a form of chlorine known as CL17, easily available as a swimming pool cleaner. They claim that the warhead contained a quantity of the gas, dissolved in saline solution.

CL17 is normal chlorine for swimming pools or industrial purposes. It is rated as Level 2 under the chemical weapons convention, which means it is dual purpose – it can be used as a weapon as well as for industrial or domestic purposes. Level 1 agents are chemicals whose sole use is as weapons, such as the nerve agents sarin or tabun.

There has been extensive experimentation by insurgents in Iraq in the use of chlorine, which is harmful when mixed with water to form hydrochloric acid. It vapourises quickly, meaning that in a big explosion it will evaporate; in a small blast – for instance, one delivered by a home-made rocket – it will turn into airborne droplets before dispersing quickly.

So it is likely only to produce limited casualties. In this case there were only 26 fatalities, far fewer than would be expected from a full chemical weapon attack. In short, it is easily improvised into a chemical device but not one that would be used by an army seeking mass-casualty effects.

Back in December of 2012, after the death squads managed to capture a chlorine factory inside Syria, the Syrian government actually issued a warning that the death squads might attempt to use chemical weapons of this nature in their battle to overthrow and oppress the government and people of Syria respectively. The Syrian Foreign Ministry stated, “Terrorist groups may resort to using chemical weapons against the Syrian people … after having gained control of a toxic chlorine factory.”

Remember, the propaganda line coming from Western governments and Western media has repeatedly changed over the years. At first, Assad was producing his own chemical weapons and gassing civilians on the very day weapons inspectors were in Syria and just down the road from where they were located. Eventually, the narrative was that Iran was producing chlorine and shipping it to Syria for use on civilians. Now, Assad has been hiding chemical weapons and using them on civilians. At least the “using them on civilians” part of the propaganda is consistent. We fully expect Russia, Hezbollah, or North Korea to be shipping chemical weapons to Syria next and we fully expect Anthony Deustch and Reuters to report it as if it is fact when it is time for the next phase of the narrative to be rolled out.

But, while we may jest at the stupidity of Western propaganda (and the unfortunate reality that it works on the lowest common denominator), we must also acknowledge that it is extremely dangerous since it has been and will continue to be the justification for yet more military action on the part of the United States and its allies in Syria.

Dear America: The World’s Not Quite as F*cked as the Mainstream Media Makes it Out to Be

By Carey Wedler | The Anti-Media

(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed) — No matter what you turn, it seems the world is burning and chaos reigns supreme. War, threats of war, racism, violence, hatred, and division populate the news cycle and leave us few options but to hang our heads in hopelessness, despair, and increasingly, rage.

While there certainly are countless reasons to be concerned about humanity’s trajectory, however, positive things are happening, and it’s important to be aware of them to keep things in perspective — and to keep your sanity. Here are some recent and long-term developments to remind you there is still hope for the human race.

Let’s start with some antidotes to the most depressing news of the past week:

Last week, many Americans worried nuclear war was upon us after Donald Trump and North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un exchanged violent threats. Media reports that North Korea possesses dangerous weapons capable of reaching the U.S. persist, but other reports have suggested the threat is not what the hype has led us to believe.

For one, many South Koreans have declined to fall victim to the hysteria and continue to live their lives. Various military-oriented news outlets have also reported that American troops and defense institutions are not moving forward with war operations. South Korea’s president said this week that there will be no war.

Further, respected MIT professor Theodore Postol, along with two other atomic experts, published an article late last week indicating they believe fears of North Korea’s nuclear capabilities have been exaggerated by the North Korean government, adding that the West’s fearful reaction is exactly the intention the regime hoped to incite.

After a week of chaos regarding North Korea, the U.S. news cycle upped the ante with the disturbing protests and subsequent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday. Some protesters waved Nazi flags and dressed in KKK regalia, chanting “White lives matter” and “Jews will not replace us.” Some counter-protesters showed up ready to fight and waving communist flags. Ultimately, a car driven by a white supremacist smashed into counter-protesters, killing three individuals and injuring many more. While the event certainly displayed the deep divisions currently plaguing American society, they also served to highlight fringe elements. In reality, most Americans are not Nazis or communists and completely reject the behavior on display this weekend, even if they succumb to more mainstream partisan divides.

Further, the market has responded to the displays of hatred in a variety of ways. Nazis are being outed on social media, and the white supremacist website, Daily Stormer, has been shut down not only by their GoDaddy server but also Google, which cited violations of their terms of service. Discord, a chat service for gamers, also terminated the accounts of white supremacists. Intolerance for intolerance is everywhere.

Further, it’s worth noting that at this point in time, the Nazi presence in the United States is not as strong — or accepted — as it was in the 1930s. At that time, American Nazis held a massive event at Madison Square Garden and built a bunker in preparation for after Hitler conquered the world and the United States collapsed.

But focusing solely on these two events, even if the goal is to demonstrate that they haven’t wholly doomed human progress, fails to do justice to the wide variety of other positive developments taking place.

For one, Bitcoin has continued to rise in value, bolstering opposition to the current central banking fiat currency monopoly. It surpassed $4,000 late last week and continues to grow. The FDA, which last year recommended that the DEA keep cannabis a Schedule I drug, is now taking public comments on the potential benefits of cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive ingredient cannabinoid showing increasing promise for use as medicine.

They are expected to present these comments, which may also focus on a variety of other drugs, to the World Health Organization (this is far from an indicator they will legalize it, but it’s undeniably a trend in the right direction). A recent survey of beekeepers recently found that the bee population is starting to rebound after years of decline.

Musician Bruno Mars has donated a million dollars to combat Flint’s ongoing water crisis, Chance the Rapper just gave 30,000 backpacks to school children in Chicago, and a new organization in San Diego, called Eat San Diego, launched an effort this year to plant free food gardens around the city.

Long-term developments are also helping humanity, from apps to make it easier to feed the homeless to tiny homes and 3-D printed houses, which can be used to help give them shelter. Emerging 3-D printed meat may eventually reduce dependence on factory farming, and consumers are increasingly demanding cleaner food options.

Despite President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, Morgan Stanley recently released an analysis contending that the U.S. will meet climate goals, anyway. Alternative forms of energy are becoming more affordable despite the far greater subsidies the fossil fuel industry still receives.  The rise in cannabis use is undermining the pharmaceutical monopoly, alcohol industry, and police and prison guard unions.

Despite its shortcomings, the independent media is thriving and challenging official narratives, and corporate news sources are increasingly exposed for their biases and political loyalties.

People are ever more interested in expanding their own consciousness, and some are starting young — in Baltimore, for example, the Holistic Life Foundation teaches students the power of meditation and yoga while encouraging them to take part in their communities, maintaining gardens and cleaning up trash.

Though it’s easy to get caught up in the media’s constant barrage of negative news, it helps to remember that that’s what sells — that fear and outrage get more ratings than community and progress. “If it bleeds, it leads,” goes the long-standing newsroom trope.

While we may be a long way off from world peace, saving the planet, and ending the corporate-authoritarian state,  progress is all around, and in times like these, it is vital to pay attention to it.

Hate Crimes Nearly Doubled as Mainstream Media Continues to Hype Muslim Boogeyman

Video Source: MintPressNews

By Roqayah Chamseddine | True Activist

The American boogeyman of terrorist threats, often used to further war and military intervention, comes with domestic consequences. In the United States, Muslim houses of worship have been inundated with threats of bodily harm and property destruction, as well as seen items like pig’s heads and desecrated Qurans left on their doorsteps.

According to a recent report by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), there was a 91-percent spike in hate crimes against Muslims in the first part of this year compared to the same period in 2016. The abuses Muslims have faced include targeted harassment, FBI intimidation, discriminatory legislation and violent assaults.

The role that the media has played in stoking fears of a Muslim menace can’t be discounted, especially when it comes to how they cover violence. Journalist Mehdi Hasan has argued that this disparity is most obvious when a Muslim is involved in a terrorist act, as the media tends to give it much more coverage than similar incidents involving non-Muslims.

From print media to the programs and films watched on a daily basis, Muslims are often seen through a single lens: as barbarians. This portrayal has real-life impact. Nearly half of Americans believe U.S. Muslims are “anti-American,” and the overall view of Muslims remains deeply negative.

A study conducted by researchers at Georgia State University found that terror attacks in the US between 2011 and 2015, when perpetrated by a Muslim, were given five times more media coverage than terror attacks committed by non-Muslims. And while Muslims carried out 12.4 percent of attacks in the U.S., they received 41.4 percent of news coverage. This extreme focus on Muslims is intentional and leads to violence against not only Muslims, but those mistakenly associated with Muslims, such as Sikhs.

In one of many anti-Muslim incidents, Rick Sorrel of Portland, Oregon admitted that he threatened a Muslim couple in July because of “fear and ignorance” and after being influenced by what he had seen and read in the news and social media. The answer to these types of incidents is a free and independent press that does away with Orientalist stereotypes and treats news as something informative instead of a spectacle to be consumed.

The Seven Most Effective Weapons Against Establishment Propaganda

By Caitlin Johnstone | Extra News Feed

This article will serve as a kind of Part 2 to “How To Fight The Establishment Propaganda Machine And Win”. In Part 1 I described a strategy for taking out America’s unelected power establishment by disrupting public trust in its mass media propaganda machine, and here I’d like to suggest a few solid examples of some specific attacks that we can use in the current political climate.

Unlike the outdated and inefficient control structures of oppressive regimes throughout most of human history, the corporatist oligarchs who have shored up power in America rule not by punishing and executing dissidents, but by creating the illusion of freedom while keeping its subjects enslaved. As Noam Chomsky wrote, “The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum.” By using the mass media to keep the public passive and obedient in this way — manipulating public discourse into an extremely narrow spectrum of debate — the oligarchs have been able to spare themselves the rebellions, uprisings and assassinations that overtly oppressive regimes inevitably find themselves confronting, which has enabled them to amass more wealth and power than any conventional dictator could ever dream of.

This style of enslaving a population by the use of propaganda and manipulation instead of threats and violence is both the oligarchy’s strength and its weakness, because it also means that we are free to use the following narrative-disruption tactics at all times, and as relentlessly as possible. Since the oppressors need to maintain the illusion of freedom, the propaganda machine is their first and last line of defense; they can’t fall back on the outdated modes of oppression without shattering the illusion of freedom and creating rage and unrest in a nation of 320 million heavily-armed primates. They can’t shut off the internet or start punishing counter-propagandists, for example, because doing so would instantly wake the public up from the matrix, cause a civil war, collapse the economy, and end the very kingdom they’ve worked so hard to build for themselves. Since there is no need to fear any retaliation other than more media manipulation, we can know with certainty that we can push the following attacks as hard as we like. So we should.

1. Bana Alabed

I want to make this as clear as I possibly can: the Bana Alabed psy-op is the single clearest example ever of the mass media collaborating with the oligarchy against the interests of the American people. I don’t think even people who’ve seen through this thing fully appreciate what a golden opportunity this is. A seven year-old girl who does not understand English, who CNN reports is legitimately tweeting in baby talk about the advantages of US military interventionism in Syria, and who CNN (who is known to do artificial pre-interviews) trotted out in front of the camera to recite plainly-scripted war propaganda syllable-by-syllable while the phoney host nods along solemnly as though she’s not knowingly complicit in the single most transparent psy-op in the history of western television? And then this same corporate news network has the gall to re-roll the tape of this fake interview in order to silence opponents of interventionism in Syria? Doesn’t get any better than that. This is where the propaganda machine officially jumped the shark, and we should all be pointing and screaming about it constantly.

I was just listening to an interview with the Resistance Chicks in which the host said that if everyone in America viewed the Youtube video they made showing just how clear and undeniable the fraud in this brazen, sloppy piece of war propaganda is, that would be the end of CNN forever. I strongly agree with him, and would add that it would completely disrupt all trust in all corporate media as well. Mainstream America simply has no idea just how evil and manipulative these people are, and they were completely exposed in this desperate attempt to manufacture consent for another regime change war over a strategic location in the fossil fuel conflict.

Related Article: 4 Examples of Mainstream Media Fabricating News to Push for War

This should be the “jab” of your psywar striking arsenal, the primary attack that you keep pumping in your foe’s face at every opportunity. We should all be talking about this constantly and making this thing go viral. Any time Syria comes up, you should drag the conversation kicking and screaming into a discussion about the Bana Alabed psy-op, because it is irrefutable proof that the corporate media is lying to the American people about that country, proof which necessarily kills any other argument they might make since that’s where all their ideas about Syria come from. If we can demonstrate to the public that they’ve been told such an indefensible lie by an institution they’ve placed so much trust in, their faith in the mass media will be completely disrupted, and reality will finally have enough space to get a word in edgewise.

2. The DNC scandal

If Bana Alabed is your jab then the DNC scandal is your cross, and we should be smashing them both in rapid fire 1–2 combinations right in the establishment’s face all day. The Democratic National Committee’s Plan A defense in the lawsuit by defrauded Sanders supporters was their motion-to-dismiss on the grounds that, despite representing one of the two barely-distinguishable political parties in a rigidly-enforced two-party system, they aren’t under any obligation to give the American people any say into which candidates they run to govern the country.

This is plain-as-day proof for all to see that democracy does not exist in America. If independent and third-party candidates face insurmountable obstacles under the current system’s rules and the two political parties are allowed to manipulate their nomination process to advance whatever candidate suits their interests, then all you will ever get a vote on is the choice between two establishment-selected pro-establishment corporatists. You do not get to call that democracy. If we can show mainstream America that democracy is not happening in their country, we can get them curious about who really is calling the shots.

Remember, this was the DNC’s Plan A. If it gets past their motion-to-dismiss, can you imagine how bad their Plan B is going to be? They could have instructed their lawyers not to make such a politically disastrous argument in the presence of a court stenographer, but they didn’t, because if they can’t get this lawsuit dismissed it’s going to be even more disastrous. Aside from the risk of winding up in a situation where they have to refund Berners their 27 bucks, there’s the even worse threat of seeing Donna Brazile and Debbie Wasserman Schultz questioned under oath by an extremely competent and passionate Sanders-loving attorney. We’ve already got enough ammunition to bring the whole thing crashing down just based on what we know about what they did and the way they’ve chosen to defend it, but if that gruesome twosome is forced to testify we’ll get even more.

The mainstream media has been doing its best to ignore this lawsuit and make everyone forget the DNC scandal. We must assure them that we will never allow this to happen. Hold a grudge and keep pushing this thing into the light.

3. Syria

Just keep a watchful eye on the whole country in general and keep pointing out the lies and plot holes in the official media narrative about what’s happening there. Ladies, you know how when a guy has been talking to you and you know he only wants to get in your pants, how that completely changes the way you look at everything he’s saying and doing? Well, the oligarchy is the guy and Syria is your lady parts. They want to get their little corporatist dick into that country so bad, so you can be certain that anything their media mouthpieces say about it is some sleazy attempt to make that happen. If they’re going to overextend themselves and make a stupid blunder, odds are it will be with Syria.

All we need to do is keep our eyes peeled for extremely porous narratives like the Idlib gas false flag and attack them relentlessly, while continually reminding everyone of the parallels between the lies the corporate media told to sell the American people the invasion of Iraq and what we see happening now with its neighbor to the west. America’s power establishment is constantly raping the Middle East for the same reason it obstructs all attempts to move toward a sane environmental policy: its empire is largely built on fossil fuels. These psychopaths do not give a shit about Syrian civilians, they care about oil and natural gas. American military interventionism has never, ever happened for humanitarian purposes, which is why you’ve never seen nonstop mass media coverage of the antics of any brutal warlords in sub-Saharan Africa; their locations have no material or strategic value to the oligarchs. It’s only when they happen to occupy key strategic locations and refuse to capitulate to US interests that the talking heads start painting them as dictators and begging us to think of the children.

One thing I like to do is challenge people to find anything negative about Assad from the mainstream media on the internet dated prior to 2009. They won’t be able to find any, because he didn’t become an evil dictator in the eyes of the west until he started favoring Russia in Syrian resource policy instead of America and its oil state allies. Not only are we expected to believe that Assad has some kind of sick sexual fetish for gratuitously bombing and gassing his own civilians, but that he only developed this fetish in the last eight years. Right.

If you want to educate yourself about a key weakness in the establishment narratives, Syria is definitely the place to start digging. It’s just lies on top of lies on top of lies, and the more desperate the oligarchs get to create public support for an invasion, the more mistakes they’ll make, and the more evidence we’ll be able to show people that they’re being lied to.

4. Tulsi Gabbard

As we’ve discussed recently, America’s power establishment it terrified of Tulsi Gabbard. A consistently sincere anti-war, pro-universal healthcare, anti-surveillance, pro-environment, anti-drug war, pro-economic justice progressive who also has a rapidly growing support base among Trump supporters and independents is hugely threatening to the elites who thrive on death and oppression, which is why they’ve got their media goons constantly attacking her and doing damage control on what she’s saying whenever she does something that’s counter to their interests like going on a fact-finding mission in Syria. Facts and truth are poison to their agenda, which is why you’ll see more and more smear pieces on the Hawaiian congresswoman as her star continues to rise.

Related Article: Congresswoman Proposes Unthinkable Solution To Refugee Crisis: “Stop Arming Terrorists”

As I said in Point 6 of my last article, in this media war that we’re fighting it’s crucial to always be on the attack. One of the ways that you can do this is to keep advancing causes that you know the power establishment is aggressively opposed to, forcing the corporate media into defense mode as they scramble to find ways to justify sabotaging something perfectly beneficial and healthy. We did this accidentally when we decided to lift up Bernie Sanders, forcing the establishment to fall all over itself trying to kill our movement to such an extent that it made some serious mistakes and got caught. We’ll always have the WikiLeaks documents exposing their disgusting manipulations and collusion, we’ll always have the fact that the CIA-funded Washington Post ran sixteen smear pieces on Sanders in the span of sixteen hours at the hottest point in the primary race, we’ll always have the fact that the shameless media blackout on Sanders was found by a Harvard study to have crippled his campaignThese manipulations were exposed because we put the establishment in a situation where it had to do a lot of crazy, conspicuous things to maintain the status quo, and those erratic, unusual movements opened a lot of eyes.

We can do the exact same thing again with Tulsi, but consciously and deliberately instead of accidentally. We can keep working to push her further and further into the spotlight, creating more and more public buzz around her and forcing the media to play defense while we keep advancing and attacking. Not because it will get her elected, but because it disrupts the narrative and makes them overextend themselves into conspicuousness whenever they have to do something weird and creepy to shut her down. Then, just like we’ll be doing with the DNC corruption our Bernie campaign exposed, we can point at that weirdness and make a lot of noise, putting them even more on the defense and further disrupting public trust in the mainstream media.

This principle applies to any grassroots initiative that the corporate media tries to sabotage. If the single-payer healthcare push starts gaining more ground, you may be sure that the talking heads on TV will stop ignoring it and start attacking it, just like they eventually had to do with the Sanders movement. Keep pushing toward the light however you can, and point out their attempts to keep things in the dark.

5. Memes

I watched the above meme go viral in real time during the primaries; the guy who created it in the Facebook group I was in was so tickled with how it took off. Using one picture and ten words, he was able to encapsulate the entire spin campaign that all of corporate media had been engaged in against Sanders and make them look completely ridiculous following the upset Michigan win in a single image. It was so clarifying to have such a solid illustration of what they were doing to us, and from that point onward we could share that meme in any conversation where we were trying to describe the nature of the disease we were fighting. While the anti-establishment movement was churning out these media guerilla warfare bombs, Hillary Clinton’s Twitter account was asking its followers to describe how student debt makes them feel “in three emojis or less.” Which prompted a lot of this:

People brought so much creativity into illustrating just how out of touch this candidate was with millennials and their media, and it definitely hurt her campaign. Read through the Podesta emails if you ever want some insight into how completely clueless the Clinton campaign staff were about how to use the new media; watch every little idea for a tweet get passed along from staffer to staffer to make sure it was “on message” before launching it. I remember seeing one email that I can’t find right now (a million internet points to anyone who can) where staffers were forwarding one another an anti-Hillary meme under the mistaken impression that it had been created by the Sanders campaign. Huma Abedin couldn’t even figure out how to view it. It was like watching an elderly drunken fisherman trying to figure out how to use his grandchild’s smart phone.

In a war of information, the ability to convey a complex idea very quickly is a precious advantage; it can be difficult to get people to sit down and watch a whole video or read an entire article, but circulating a witty image/word combination that they can ingest at a glance can change the way people think in a way the legacy media simply can’t compete with and cannot understand. While we’re deploying a steady deluge of constantly-evolving counter-propaganda bombs, the Washington think tanks are spending days trying to get everyone “on message” for a single low-key psy-op. Learn to create and use memes and get deeply familiar with new media, and you’ll be armed with a heavy artillery that the enemy will never be equipped with.

6. The Russiagate psy-op

The media spent months manipulating the American public into hating Russia beginning in the latter part of last year, even launching a deliberate psy-op to marry the words “hacking” and “election” in the minds of its viewers by constantly using the phrases “election hacking” and “hacked the election” in headline after headline in November and December. This psy-op was so successful that half of all Hillary voters believed that Russia had actually tampered with vote tallies per a YouGov poll in December.

The explanation for why Russia is alleged to have “hacked the election” is even more porous; Putin preferred Trump to Clinton because Clinton wanted to invade Syria to install a no-fly zone, which top military officials attestedwould have necessitated a war with both Syria and Russia. So the charge is that the Russian government hacked Democratic officials and fed emails to WikiLeaks in order to avoid needless escalations and a military conflict with the United States in a country that the US government and its media goon squad have been lying about constantly. It’s lies and propaganda on top of lies and propaganda all the way down; they’re trying to paint themselves as a victim of something they themselves created. In reality, the American permanent government doesn’t like Putin because he’s cock-blocking them on Syria and doing other naughty things like working with China to move away from the US dollar as a reserve currency, and the establishment is openly admitting that they want to increase pressure on him to hurt his popularity and get him deposed.

Most importantly, we are seeing more and more evidence that Russiagate is dying; the more Trump capitulates to the deep state, the more the accusation that he colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election fades from emphasis, which means that this was only ever their goal. The only reason the entirety of both the corporate media and the political establishment poured relentless energy into hammering the American psyche with this accusation was to pressure the president into falling in line on Syria, WikiLeaks, Russia and other oligarchic interests. We are being paced out of the #TrumpRussia hysteria as gradually and methodically as we were paced into it, and soon that massive psy-op will go completely unmentioned in mainstream media in the hope that the public will forget about it and move on.

We won’t ever let that happen. We will keep reminding everyone of how the 24/7 news churn was relentless in pummelling the public consciousness day after day after day with the absolute certainty that Trump is in bed with Putin. We will remind them that they were lied to. We will remind them that they believed those lies. The more time goes on, the stronger an anti-propaganda weapon this will become and the more distrust we’ll be able to sow in the corporate media, because no hard proof of Trump-Russia election collusion will ever emerge. If any such evidence existed, the intelligence community’s vast surveillance network would have found it and leaked it to the Washington Post in December. If the Kremlin wanted to manipulate the US election using hackers, they’d just do it; they wouldn’t need to coordinate it with an American political candidate. They will continue backing away from Russiagate, and we will continually remind the American public of their grotesque manipulations.

7. Internet Shills

How covert agents infiltrate the internet to Manipulate, Device, and Destroy Reputations https://t.co/Tp6ltCjAIf

The only reason we ever knew that the Clinton campaign was hiring professional shills to pose as real Hillary supporters online in order to deceive people and manipulate public discourse is because they were forced to disclose it due to FEC regulations. If not for this disclosure, we never would have known that Correct the Record was employing shills in this way. America’s power establishment as a whole is not subject to such disclosure laws, however, and to believe that Correct the Record was the extent of their shill army would be naive in the extreme. Here is an Intercept article by the amazing Glenn Greenwald from 2014 about “how western intelligence agencies are attempting to manipulate and control online discourse with extreme tactics of deception and reputation-destruction,” just for a tip-of-the-iceberg glimpse at some of the vile practices the deep state is up to its elbows in.

This fact is a weapon in our psywar because continually bringing it up and pointing at it as a reality weakens public trust in the establishment and its narratives. There is always a distinct possibility that that person on your internet forum who is scoffing and ridiculing an anti-establishment narrative or public figure is a paid shill. This is always a fact, and everyone should always be aware of it. Targeted shill armies don’t have to be that big to significantly manipulate the dialogue of a high-visibility online conversation, they are not relatively that expensive for an extremely wealthy plutocrat, and America’s plutocrats (who per definition are part of the deep state) stand plenty to gain by maintaining the status quo. If they’ll use the media to manipulate public perception and buy up the legislative branch of the US federal government with campaign funding and corporate lobbying to keep things working in a way that is beneficial to them, there’s no reason to believe they wouldn’t try to manipulate online discourse with targeted shill campaigns as well. Hell, we already know for a fact that individual corporations and conglomerates hire shills to manipulate conversations on Reddit, so why wouldn’t they manipulate politically crucial discourse as well?

So this is happening, though the specifics and extent are not yet known. As an aside, though, I find it very encouraging that this is the best these creeps can do to try and sabotage grassroots movements in the new media — “Durr, let’s throw money at it! We’ll pay people to do what they’re doing!” Their pathetic mummified brains just can’t keep up with the newly shifting paradigm, and they’ll never be able to hire enough shills to shift the tide of a steadily-awakening populace. So that’s tasty.

Let me know what other tactics you’ve thought of for disrupting the propaganda machine in the comments below, and please circulate your ideas far and wide. Let’s do this thing.

Watch: The US Drug Companies Completely Own Our Mainstream Media (and Many Elected Officials)

Video Source: The Young Turks

With the exception of CBS, every major media outlet in the United States shares at least one board member with at least one pharmaceutical company.

To put that into perspective: These board members wake up, go to a meeting at Merck or Pfizer, then they have their driver take them over to a meeting with NBC to decide what kind of programming that network is going to air. Mike Papantonio discusses the connection between Big Pharma and Mainstream Media outlets and also their connection with many of our elected officials.

News Media Bombshell Should Horrify All Americans: Boston Herald Calls for Violence Against Those Who Question Vaccine Safety

By Dr. Joseph Mercola | mercola.com

The vaccine industry, public health organizations and many media outlets parroting the pre-established talking points insist that the science on vaccines is settled: Vaccines are safe and the childhood vaccination schedule is scientifically sound. End of story. According to some, the matter is so settled that anyone questioning the data or pointing out inconsistencies and/or research showing harm should be executed as punishment for “lying.”

This despicable call for violence came from editorial staff at the Boston Herald. The whole nasty mess started with a measles outbreak in Minnesota, the blame for which has been placed on a large Somali community where vaccination rates have declined in recent years due to parents’ concerns about vaccine safety.

Related Article: Not Just Autism, Major Yale Study Shows Vaccines Tied To Multiple Brain Disorders

Measles Outbreak Blamed on Unvaccinated Somalis

According to reports, of the 51 documented measles cases in Minnesota, 47 were unvaccinated; 46 were Somali. In all, only 42 percent of the Somali population in Minnesota received the measlesmumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine in 2014, down from 87 percent in 2005 and 2006.

The reason for the decline in MMR vaccination is easy enough to understand. Research has demonstrated that Americans of Somali descent have nearly double the rate of autism than the general public, and personal experiences with their children’s health deteriorating after vaccination have raised serious questions and suspicions in the Somali community that the MMR vaccine might play a role. As reported by Inquisitr:1

“In 2013, a report from the University of Minnesota estimated that about [1] in 32 Somali children ages [7] through [9] … had been diagnosed with autism in 2010 …

The lack of vaccination in the Somali community in Minnesota led to a report in [The] Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine.2 That paper indicated that most parents in the Somali community refused vaccines because they believed that vaccines caused autism.

When asked why they felt that vaccines cause autism, every single one of the parents reported that they feel that vaccines cause autism ‘because they knew a child who received the MMR vaccine and then got autism.’ One-fifth of the Somali Minnesotan parents had researched the topic themselves ‘and believed that science supports the connection’ between autism and vaccines.”

Boston Herald Takes Cyberbullying to a Whole New Level

In what has been called a “scalding anti-anti-vax op-ed,”3 the Boston Herald’s May 8 report on the Minnesota measles outbreak concluded with the following statement:4

“These are the facts: Vaccines don’t cause autism. Measles can kill. And lying to vulnerable people about the health and safety of their children ought to be a hanging offense.”

This obnoxious paragraph led to hundreds of angry comments, at least one of which pointed out the hanging threat was an open violation of Massachusetts’ 2014 law against cyberbullying.5,6 Others rightfully suggested that if lying to the public about health was a hanging offense, then many high-ranking health officials, researchers and drug manufacturers would earn a place at the front of the line.7

As extreme as the Boston Herald’s comment is, it’s not the first time mandatory vaccination proponents have made callous calls for violent action against those questioning vaccine safety. As noted by The Vaccine Reaction, published by the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC):8

“In March … Scientific American published an article by Peter Hotez, M.D,. of Texas Children’s Hospital, also inciting violence against people who do not agree with current government vaccine policies. Dr. Hotez stated: ‘An American antivaccine movement is building and we need to take steps now to snuff it out.’

In 2015, USA Today published a column by Alex Berezow advocating that ‘anti-vax’ parents should be imprisoned. At the time, that seemed to be a draconian proposal, but certainly less so compared to today’s calls for execution.”

Claims of Coincidence No Longer Hold Water

Vaccine injuries are becoming like cancer — the prevalence is so high, most people know someone who has suffered a serious side effect from a vaccine. And, as vaccine injuries multiply, claims of “coincidence” are getting increasingly harder to swallow.

This is precisely what we’re seeing among Minnesota’s Somali community, where many now reject the MMR vaccine based on the community’s firsthand experiences. Another example is Mississippi. It has one of the highest vaccination rates in the U.S. It also has one of the highest autism rates.9 Another coincidence?

In the absence of firm proof either way, many parents call for the legal right to make voluntary decisions about which vaccines their child should receive and if or when they should be given. Indeed, being able to exercise informed consent to medical risk-taking, including making voluntary decisions about vaccination, is one of the most basic human rights we have.

The numbers of children suffering with chronic illness and disability, including autism spectrum disorders, are increasing. Of this there is no doubt. The numbers of children and adults who have experienced serious vaccine reactions are also increasing. Of this there is no doubt either.

Boston Herald, Retract Your Hate Speech

To simply turn a blind eye to these phenomena would be foolish in the extreme. Threatening violence in an effort to scare people away from looking at the possible links, if anything, should be deemed a criminal offense. Barbara Loe Fisher, president and co-founder of the NVIC, has warned for many years:

“If the State can tag, track down and force individuals to be injected with biologicals of known and unknown toxicity today, then there will be no limit on which individual freedoms the state can take away in the name of the greater good tomorrow.”

Considering we’re now seeing rhetoric calling for the killing of anyone advocating for safer vaccines, more humane vaccine policies and informed consent protections, it seems reasonable to say we’ve entered some very frightening territory. If leading news outlets are allowed to call for lethal action against people accused of “lying” about vaccines when they are more likely simply reporting facts and raising concerns that contradict the official rhetoric, then what comes next?

Most states don’t even allow capital punishment for mass murderers, yet Boston Herald editors want to hang people for bringing up the possibility that vaccines might do harm?! I join neurodevelopment disorder researcher James Lyons-Weiler,10 author of “The Environmental and Genetic Causes of Autism,” in calling for the Herald to retract the editorial and issue an apology for its inflammatory comments. This kind of hate speech cannot be tolerated.

Fact on Legal Record: Vaccines Are Unavoidably Unsafe

In 1986, Congress passed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, a law that includes provisions shielding vaccine manufacturers and doctors from liability when a vaccine causes a permanent disability or death.11

The reason drug makers and doctors were granted wholesale immunity against liability was because Congress and the Supreme Court concluded that government licensed vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe,”12 and vaccine makers therefore should not be held liable for vaccine injuries and deaths resulting from government mandated vaccines.

Remember that Supreme Court ruling whenever drug industry bobbleheads insist that the science is settled and vaccines are “safe.” Government licensed vaccines have been declared unavoidably unsafe, and that’s a matter of legal record.13,14 More importantly, the science is still wide-open with regard to whether or not vaccines cause autism.

A paper15 published in the peer-reviewed, open-access Journal of Translational Science on April 24, 2017, is a cross-sectional study of 6- to 12-year-olds exploring the association between preterm birth, vaccination and neurodevelopmental disorders, using data from both vaccinated and unvaccinated populations.

Preemies receive the same vaccines and number of doses recommended by the federal childhood vaccination schedule as full-term babies, and on the same time schedule, and the impact of vaccines on preemies has never been evaluated. Premature birth is a well-known risk factor for neurodevelopmental problems. However, here they found that when premature infants were not vaccinated, the association between preterm birth and neurodevelopmental disorders was nonexistent. They also found that:

  • Term birth with vaccination was associated with a 2.7-fold increase in the odds of neurodevelopmental disorders compared to unvaccinated full-term babies
  • Preterm birth with vaccination was associated with a 5.4-fold increase in the odds of neurodevelopmental disorders compared to the odds of neurodevelopmental disorders given term birth and vaccination
  • Preterm birth with vaccination was associated with a 12.3-fold increased odds of neurodevelopmental disorders compared to preterm birth without vaccination

So, is the science truly settled when one of the first studies of its kind — one that actually compares vaccinated versus unvaccinated populations —finds vaccination increases a child’s odds of a neurodevelopmental disorder such as autism by 270 percent?

I’m not saying “vaccines cause autism.” I’m saying it’s unscientific to say “vaccines don’t cause autism.” Overwhelmingly, the evidence tells us that scientists still do not know for sure either way — which is why we so desperately need more and better quality research. In the meantime, death threats for reporting on and investigating these controversies are what really needs to be “snuffed out.”

More Research Questioning Vaccine Efficacy

I recently interviewed Neil Miller, medical research journalist, on his outstanding book “Miller’s Review of Critical Vaccine Studies: 400 Important Scientific Papers Summarized for Parents and Researchers.” His book has two studies that he personally published that document serious concerns about vaccines.

Our fascinating interview will be posted later this year but in the meantime, I wanted to share the highlights of the interview by mentioning the two studies Miller published.

The U.S. requires infants to receive 26 vaccine doses, the most in the world, yet 33 nations have better infant mortality rates. His first study, published in 2011,16 analyzed the vaccination schedules of 34 developed nations and found a significant correlation between infant mortality rates and the number of vaccine doses infants receive.

Nations that require the most vaccines tend to have the worst infant mortality rates. The study found that developed nations that require the least number of infant vaccines tend to have the best infant mortality rates.

His second study, published in 2012,17 analyzed 38,801 reports in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) of infants who had adverse events after receiving vaccinations. Infants who received the most vaccines concurrently were significantly more likely to be hospitalized or die, compared to infants who received fewer vaccines concurrently.

This study was designed to determine a) whether infants who receive several vaccines simultaneously rather than fewer are more likely to be hospitalized or die, and b) whether younger infants are more likely than older infants to be hospitalized or die after receiving vaccines.

Not Knowing Whether Vaccines Cause Autism Is Not the Same as Being Sure They Don’t

In 2013, a physician committee at the Institute of Medicine (IOM), National Academy of Sciences, concluded that the current federally recommended childhood vaccine schedule for infants and children from birth to age 6 had not been adequately studied for safety,18 and that studies are needed to examine the:

  • Long-term cumulative effects of vaccines
  • Timing of vaccination in relation to the age and health of the child
  • Effects of the total load or number of vaccines given at one time
  • Effect of vaccine ingredients in relation to health outcomes
  • Biological mechanisms of vaccine-associated injury

More specifically, the IOM committee concluded there was insufficient scientific evidence to determine whether or not the numbers of doses and timing of federally recommended vaccines children receive in the first six years of life are associated with the development of chronic brain and immune system disorders that affect a child’s intellectual development, learning, attention, communication and behavior, such as ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities and autism.

There’s Not Enough Evidence to Confirm or Deny Causation

Before that, the IOM’s vaccine safety review, “Adverse Effects of Vaccines: Evidence and Causality,”19 published in 2011, which looked at eight specific vaccines, including the MMR, concluded there was insufficient evidence to either confirm or deny causation for most reported poor health outcomes — including autism — following receipt of these vaccines.

In other words, based on the scientific evidence, WE DO NOT KNOW whether vaccines cause autism. So again, when one-size-fits-all vaccine proponents claim to know the score and that “vaccines don’t cause autism,” they’re not telling the whole truth. Should they hang by the neck for that? Importantly, the IOM’s 2011 report also highlighted the fact that:

  • Some people are more vulnerable to suffering vaccine reactions and injury for biological, genetic and environmental reasons
  • In most cases physicians do not know what those individual susceptibilities are
  • It’s virtually impossible to predict ahead of time who will be harmed by vaccination

First Do No Harm

What this tells us is that we need to apply the precautionary principle of “first do no harm.” Insisting on a one-size-fits-all vaccine schedule guarantees that a certain number of people will be harmed, although we do not know exactly who or how many, since we still don’t know exactly why and to what extent some people are more susceptible to vaccine damage than others.

The issue of vaccine safety is truly one of epic proportions, because the side effects, when they occur, are typically lifelong or lethal. We cannot afford to abandon the conversation about vaccine safety out of fear of harassment (or the threat of hanging), because the issue of forced vaccinations is cropping up everywhere you turn these days.

For example, a recent bill before the Texas House of Representatives to reform the state’s foster care system included a sneaky provision requiring foster children to get prompt medical exams.20

Suspecting the provision had the aim of forcing vaccinations, retired medical consultant Bill Zedler, R-District 96, introduced an amendment to prevent doctors from vaccinating foster children during these legally required medical exams, upholding parents’ rights to make vaccination decisions.

Public Health Measures to Prevent Disease Must Include Safeguards for All

We must continue pushing for greater safety for all children and adults, not just for those lucky enough to be free of individual susceptibility to vaccine damage. Human sacrifice is no longer a permissible religious practice. Why should it be permissible in medical practice? As noted in The Vaccine Reaction:21

“[E]ach of us has the basic human right to be informed about any medical intervention a doctor proposes to perform on us or our minor children, and we have the right to consent or not to consent to that intervention … According to Barbara Loe Fisher … informed consent is an ‘overarching ethical principle in the practice of medicine for which vaccination should be no exception’ …

‘We maintain this is a responsible and ethically justifiable position to take in light of the fact that vaccination is a medical intervention performed on a healthy person that has the inherent ability to result in the injury or death of that healthy person.’”

Netflix Bans ‘The Red Pill’ Documentary Because It Contains Too Much TRUTH

Tracey Watson | Humans Are Free

Let me start out by saying that I have no political agenda. Like most of you, I’m just a regular, straight-down-the-middle person living my life.

That said, I am open-minded and believe that getting different perspectives and listening to many viewpoints is important in shaping my own views.

The world would be a bleak place, indeed, if we were all forced to accept only one side of any given equation.

And yet, that is what we are increasingly being bullied into doing, as evidenced recently by the totally over-the-top reaction by many to filmmaker Cassie Jaye’s documentary The Red Pill.

In the movie, Jaye, an investigative journalist and self-proclaimed feminist, decided to go down the rabbit hole of the Men’s Rights Activism (MRA) movement, described by Urban Dictionary as “an organization of men and their women allies who draw attention to the ways in which misandry (anti-male attitudes and actions) and gynocentrism (women-privileging) harm men.”

The film sets out to examine what MRAs really stand for, what they believe they’re fighting for, and what their attitudes really are towards women.

In spite of the movie’s huge commercial success, Netflix has refused to air it. In theaters in Canada, Australia and the U.S., feminists have come out en masse to protest viewings, and independent theaters have been under huge pressure not to show it.

CBC News recently reported that theater patrons and sponsors in Canada have threatened to stop doing business with theaters that dare to go ahead with scheduled screenings.

Gavin McInnes of Rebel Media calls this type of pressure “economic terrorism,” and makes the interesting point that many of the people who protested so vehemently against the film have never even seen it.

McInnes argues that many recent documentaries have been very biased toward one particular viewpoint, and some like An Inconvenient Truth, have been scientifically flawed and totally one-sided, yet have been accepted as fact and allowed to mold the thinking of many.

On the other hand, with The Red Pill, Cassie Jaye does “what true journalists should do,” she insists. “You set out with no agenda and you don’t end up where you thought you would.”

And judging by the content of the trailer, that is just what Jaye does. While providing the perspective of the MRAs, and highlighting some of their most pressing issues, she also speaks to prominent feminist activists and journalists to get their take on those issues.

The interviews Jaye conducts for the documentary highlight issues like men having virtually no rights when it comes to custody disputes, and the fact that if a woman should decide to abort her baby, her spouse or partner would have no say in the matter.

The documentary also highlights the fact that 93 percent of workplace fatalities affect men, and that 4 out of 5 suicides are men.

As one of the interviewees notes, men are suffering, but:

“Society doesn’t want to hear their pain. We value female life more than we value male life.”

Dr. Warren Farrell refers to a “big hole in the area of compassion for boys and men,” and Paul Elam, president and founder of A Voice for Men, notes that the anti-men message is a subtle subtext in statements like “stop violence against women,” rather than simply, “stop all violence.”

In her video diary, Jaye looks really confused and says she’s unsure if the MRAs are simply “duping” her to convince her of their out-there theory that “men are discriminated against, and women have the advantage.”

Google Is Putting CNN, Washington Post, NYT in Charge of Fact-Checking News

By Anti-Media Staff | The Anti-Media

(ANTIMEDIA) Google announced Friday that it’s adding a special feature to its news service — Fact Check. Searchers will now know who checked the validity of a news story and the conclusion they arrived at.

The Fact Check tag “identifies articles that include information fact checked by news publishers and fact-checking organizations.” Each Fact Check snippet “will display information on the claim, who made the claim, and the fact check on that particular claim.”

We’re revolutionizing the news industry, but we need your help! Click here to get started.

The rating system will rank stories from “true” to “false” but will also denote stories it finds “partly true” and “partly false.” Searches will also have the option, via hyperlink in the snippet, to review the fact-checkers’ content on the same subject.

This, of course, begs the question: Who are the fact-checkers?

Anyone can volunteer to be one, says Google, cautioning that “Only publishers that are algorithmically determined to be an authoritative source of information will qualify for inclusion.”

Currently, the growing list of 115 organizations includes the likes of CNN, The Washington Post, NBC, CBS, and The New York Times, to name a few.

So now, not only will the corporate media be able to deem which content is acceptable and which isn’t, it’ll also be able — again, the link will be right there in the snippet — to guide readers toward their own view on the matter.

Fact Check: A rating system for the corporate media and by the media corporations.

Incidentally, there’s already a mechanism in place for calling out bullshit. It’s called the independent media.

Dutch Media Cancels Dr. Phil Show After He Exposes Elite Pedophilia Ring

By Amanda Froelich | True Activist

One week ago, celebrity psychologist Dr. Phillip McGraw became one of the first individuals to expose the world of elite pedophilia on mainstream television. In a segment with a woman going by the name of “Kendall”, he and the rest of the world learned that she was literally born into – and grew up in – the world of elite sexual slavery.

Kendall explained that she was “born” to be a sex slave, as her parents intentionally had her to be ‘pimped’ by the trafficker she calls her “owner.” Since then, she has serviced some of the world’s most powerful and elite. In one instance, Kendall describes being passed around groups of rich and prominent men and women so they might “take turns” with her for sadistic sexual pleasure.

The information is damning, as the woman admits she was forced to rape children as young as 5-years-old. Additionally, she was forced by her “owner” to kill a baby. When asked when she was first raped, Kendall said it was “before I could talk – I was used to it by the time I was 2.”

Until recently, the theory that there is an elite pedophilia ring has been chalked up to being nothing more than a conspiracy theory. The segment which aired on mainstream media exposed the truth, however, which might be why Dutch company RTL pulled the plug on the Dr. Phil show which has aired since 2002.

A translated quote from Dutch Media RTL says the Dr. Phil show was canceled because of “difference choices in programming.” Because the show has been airing for almost 15 years and because the elite pedophilia ring was exposed last week, the timing is curious.

The Netherlands has come under fire in recent years for pedophile activity at the highest levels in society. According to English-speaking Dutch media NL Times, political leaders – including a mayor and justice official of the Netherlands – have been summoned to court by alleged victims of child sex-trafficking. Additionally, a Dutch pedophile society sought to challenge a Supreme Court ban on its organization in 2014, claiming the ban is a violation of their freedom of speech.

The elite pedophilia ring extends worldwide, which is why information concerning the matter needs to be exposed. While there is no evidence proving the Dr. Phil show was canceled by higher-up members of society in the Netherlands, the timing is questionable, nonetheless.

Epic List: Ron Paul Names and Shames Journalists Disseminating Fake News in the Mainstream Media

By Amando Flavio | We Are Anonymous

These two words “Fake News” came to prominence after the 2016 United States presidential election. The election outcomes shocked the Democratic Party’s candidate and all her surrogate journalists in the mainstream media.

As part of a broader propaganda campaign against Donald Trump before the election, these journalists said there was no chance of him winning. Many pre-election polls covertly sponsored by these journalists and their media owners, projected Hillary Clinton as the winner.

Ron Paul

However, on the actual day of reckoning, Trump delivered a heavy blow to these propaganda polls. He garnered enough Electoral College votes to grab the presidency.

Dejected and disappointed, the journalists who launched the fruitless campaign for Clinton turned to the blame game—probably to convince Clinton they did their best for her.

Before the election, the intelligence agencies of the United States also covertly backed Clinton. As the defeat came, the intelligence community pointed fingers at Russia interfering, to help Trump.

As the intelligence agencies blamed Russia, the Clinton journalists turned their attention to alternative news outlets on the internet. These journalists said Trump won because alternative news outlets disseminated fake news via social media platforms about Clinton.

Many of these journalists called for the shutting down of alternative outlets on social media. Facebook was specifically blamed for allowing its platform to be used to share the alleged fake news about Clinton. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was prompted to break his silence, describing the claim as baseless.

Not only did Zuckerberg stand against the fake news claim, other prominent Americans have also added their voices.

Ronald Ernest Paul, popularly known as Ron Paul, is an author, physician and former politician. He was formerly the Representative for Texas’ 14th and 22nd congressional districts. On three occasions, Mr Paul sought the presidency of the United States: as the Libertarian Party nominee in 1988 and as a candidate in the Republican primaries of 2008 and 2012.

Ron Paul

Although Paul has retired from active politics, he’s known for critiques on U.S. mainstream institutions working to please the Establishment. After the presidential election and the subsequent fake news brouhaha, Mr Paul also offered his opinion on the issue.

The former Congressman has revealed a list of fake news journalists he claims are responsible for “bogus wars” and lies about Clinton’s chances of winning the election. Journalists from CNN, The New York Times, MSNBC, ABC, Bloomberg, and Guardian among others, were included in Mr Paul’s list. The list has been described as ‘epic.’

Ron Paul

“This list contains the culprits who told us that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and lied us into multiple bogus wars,” Mr Paul wrote on his think-thank website Ron Paul Liberty Report. Paul claims the list is sourced and “holds a lot more water.”

Paul’s list includes the full names of the “fake news” journalists as well as the publications they write for, with what appears to be hyperlinks to where the allegations are sourced from. In most cases, this is WikiLeaks, but none of the hyperlinks are working at present, leaving the exact sources of the list unknown.

CNN of course topped the list. The outlet had nine entries, followed by The New York Times and MSNBC, with six entries each. Mr Paul revealed the dangers of these journalists working with these outlets and their ability to have become professionals in the lying business.

Ron Paul

“These are the news sources that told us ‘if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. They told us that Hillary Clinton had a 98% of winning the election. They tell us in a never-ending loop that ‘The economy is in great shape!’”, Paul said.

Independently speaking, Mr Paul’s list shows how corrupt journalists working in the mainstream media have become. Prior to the election, leaked files published by WikiLeaks revealed certain mainstream journalists working for the Clinton campaign. The New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman was fingered in one such leak. Another report also revealed CNN leaked questions to Clinton before a presidential debate.

Ron Paul

These clandestine activities were committed by the mainstream journalists to ensure Clinton won the presidency. But as it failed to materialize, they had no option than to indulge in a senseless blame game. Ron Paul’s contemporary thinking will no doubt continue to expose others for their part in the game, however.

Why I Stopped Taking In Mainstream “News” (& What I Do Instead)

Finerminds-GuestPost-Farhana2-300x180The other day someone mentioned something about the Rupert Murdoch scandal and when I told them that I was unaware of it because I no longer watch the news and really hadn’t for several years, they called me ignorant and apathetic.

10 years ago I used to voraciously follow the news. I had an insatiable appetite for educating thick-headed people about some truths as to why America went to war with Iraq. I stood on my soap box and hurled information and handled adverse commentary like Wonder Woman.

But I began to notice something in my body.

If I was still, I could actually feel my blood change. It was the strangest thing. This was well before I had ever heard of how our thoughts can actually change our cellular structure. But I could feel it. I knew the undercurrent of rage from the injustice churning inside me all the time was not healthy.

Because I felt it was MY job to educate as best as I could those whose brains had been saturated by incompetent media who were seemingly void of all journalistic integrity, I didn’t feel like I could stop.

Then, I went to see Michael Moore’s then newly released film, Fahrenheit 911. Everything in that movie, aside from 2 points, I had already known and researched. Everything. And now, he had taken it out and made it public in a big way. The movie was controversial, even debatable, but the thing with information is, once you know it, you can’t ‘un’ know it. I felt validated, heard, relieved and now, I could rest.

Right around that same time, I discovered the Daily Show with John Stewart. I say ‘discover’ because no one I knew here had ever heard of it. It used to air in Canada at such an obscure hour that I would manipulate my daughters middle of the night nursing schedule to fit his show time.

He was able to take the obscene behaviour of governments and use that as a platform to educate people through humour. I thought, now that is a heck of a lot more potent than what I had been doing. He became my sole source of news. I found his parody to be shockingly closer to truth than anything else that I had seen on the so-called news channels.

I know that not all news stations have lost journalistic integrity. Last year on a trip to Montreal I sat beside a man who was a well respected journalist with the CBC for over 30 years and was now returning from a trip to North Africa (before the uprisings) where he trained media on journalistic integrity. I asked him which news station he thought had the highest integrity. You know who he said? Al- Jazeera.

I no longer watch anything. TV time in my house is reserved for my kids who enjoy the antics of Zack and Cody. But, in the unlikely event that I were to return to watching the news again, it’s nice to know where I can go.

Now I favor meditation. I have had meditations in where I have brokered love between the Israeli and Palestinian people. Where I have helped increase the vibration of every woman in the slums and helped her tap into that place where she knows she is Magnificence regardless of the illusionary world that is presented before her. I have breathed into the spirit of child soldiers and helped them with their self-forgiveness and to see the love that the Universe has to offer them. And I have united with the marine world and asked their forgiveness for our recklessness and then aided with renewal.

So while I may not find news particularly worthy anymore, and indeed the price of that may be ignorance, I feel myself connected to the fabric of our oneness in a way that would hardly be classified as apathetic.

MSNBC Just Admitted: “Our Job” Is To “Control Exactly What People Think”

By Claire Bernish | Activist Post

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski just erased any lingering doubts the corporate press serves almost wholly to vomit propaganda in order to control public perception, in a rather stupefying statement during an exchange with Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough about President Trump possibly “trying to undermine the media.”

“Exactly. That is exactly what I hear,” Scarborough stated. “What Yamiche said is what I hear from all the Trump supporters that I talk to who were Trump voters and are still Trump supporters. They go, ‘Yeah you guys are going crazy. He’s doing — what are you so surprised about? He is doing exactly what he said he is going to do.’”

“Well, I think that the dangerous, you know,” Brzezinski replied, “edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job.”

Pause and consider what Brzezinski actually said — whether or not the latter sentence constituted a Freudian slip.

A corporate media presstitute — whose game of career musical chairs saw her leaving mainstream, right-wing Fox News for mainstream, left-wing MSNBC — just told the American public it’s the media’s job to “control exactly what people think.”

That statement comprises the most blatant — if perhaps tacit — evidence pro-U.S. government propaganda measures passed with the 2017 NDAA have already begun.

Mass media has for decades entrenched itself surreptitiously on the side of the ruling political establishment, using the tool of feigned neutrality to manipulate the public into thinking its reports aren’t thoroughly infused with whatever the current agenda might be.

Apparently Brzezinski and her corporate press ilk finally feel the same looming threat of censorship burdening alternative and independent outlets, which have experienced as much throughout the last election cycle. What they conveniently forget, however, is Trump salivating over media control differs negligibly from calls by the same mainstream outlets during that election season not to give credence to information revealed by WikiLeaks — nor to disseminate the (accurate) reports based on those documents proffered by alternative media.

Indeed, this dissonant, hypocritical indignation over Trump’s unmistakable effort to tailor information to suit his agenda, however justified the observation is, handily demarcates a battle between the old guard of corporate media turned government mouthpiece and the new guard of an authoritarian administration testing limits of information control.

Two arms of the same arrogant censor.

But censorship of the free press has been a grave concern of independent media for months, as corporate outlets scampered to deem any reporting on multiple scandals involving the DNC and candidate Hillary Clinton ‘fake news’ — or even Russian propaganda — no matter the proven validity of the information.

That soft censorship might have suited the interests of the previous political establishment’s favored narrative — and provided a comfortable impunity for mainstream press to sanctimoniously skewer independent reporting — but the lack of foresight the oppression would eventually come full circle to apply across the board is laughable.

Perhaps MSNBC and other behemoth organizations underestimated the extreme executive powers former President Obama bequeathed to Trump — as well as Trump’s leeway in implementing more.

MSNBC’s offense at the manipulation of facts and fictions rings hollow when it and other mainstream outlets evince an established pattern of the same. That’s at least fairly close to — if not exactly — the pot calling the kettle black.

However, pointing out astonishing hypocrisy in demands for soft and hard censorship could these days be a new sport, the examples happen with such frequency. Instead, both sides — the corporate press and the political establishment, including Trump — have ramped up the measures necessary to guarantee freedom of the press will decline in coming years without hypervigilance.

And hypervigilance is an absolute necessity, now that there is no room to deny the sordid and unseemly marriage of censorship and propaganda — facilitating control of the public mind — championed openly by corporate America’s loyal lapdogs: media and government.
