Environmentally friendly, environment-friendly, eco-friendly, nature-friendly, and green are terms referring to goods and habitats, services, laws, guidelines and policies that inflict reduced, minimal, or no harm upon ecosystems or the environment

In January 2000, the people of Cochabamba, Bolivia, shut down the city in protest against the privatization of their municipal water system, which had resulted in rate hikes that doubled or tripled their water bills. In February of that year, Pacific News Service correspondent Jim Shultz broke the story in the Western press with “A War Over Water,” his firsthand reports of clashes between riot police and protesters

It’s easy to mock goofy and irrational fears about solar farms, but they are only an expression of deeper anxieties. Concerns also include: “Solar panels are now taking up the majority of the farm land, jobs are disappearing and it is becoming a ghost town because younger local residents have to move away to find employment.”
