Given the times we are in, it makes sense that some of us feel down and experience a sense of helplessness or dread. However, infusing inspiration into our lives could help us to protect our own mental health while we continue to fight for our moral values and adhere to doing what’s right. Growing up, our caregivers and culture teach us that it’s bad to be in our lower chakras and good to be in our upper chakras (or the heart and above) where love and spirituality resides. This kind of socialization causes us to relegate our strong lower chakra and our weak upper chakra qualities into the shadow realm and pretend that they are not a part of us. And this pretending causes us to lose a lot of our chakra power.

It all comes down to the choices you make, and when you are aware of Samskaras, you can give yourself the power to actually overcome them and make it work for you in your favor. The simple yet seemingly near impossible task is to simply stop choosing. Get to a point of neutrality about or around whatever it is that has this control or power over you. It’s not so much about reacting on your emotions as it is acknowledging them, accepting them, and allowing them to freely flow by as they were meant to do. It is only when we grasp and pull and hang onto our emotion do they cause us pain, confusion, etc.

Emotions – Let go of things that you can’t change. Recognize your emotions are your internal guidance system. Ask yourself: Why do I feel this way? Why do I respond this way? Do your best to get to the root of the emotion. Let emotions flow and don’t hold them in (don’t hurt another as you process your emotions). It is a scientific fact that repressed emotions lead to physical illness.

A town in Mexico recently celebrated seven years since kicking out the corrupt narco government and reverting back to an indigenous form of self-governance. In the town of Cherán, in Michoacán, Mexico, a system of traditional indigenous law-enforcement and accountability continues to guide the people.
