How to be Disciplined Without Being Psychotic – Gabrielle Bernstein

A short video from Gabrielle Bernstein on how to find balance between being disciplined and going with the flow. “When we commit to creating positive change we can sometimes get a little psycho about it. I believe in discipline as long as it doesn’t become another reason to stress out. In this video I talk about how we can find the balance between being disciplined without being psychotic,” she says.

New Wisdom for a New Age

Sam Welsby, Contributor

My Mum likes to offer me pearls of wisdom from the past She’s an avid reader of health supplements and was born into the baby boomer generation where social conformity was paramount. She often passes on advice  from the papers or doles out a dollop of common sense from days gone by. The main area of my life that she takes an interest in is my diet, and whenever I see her I’m given a litany of do’s and don’ts to help me stay slim and healthy. These rules have changed over the years depending on what was en vogue. In the 1980s the low-fat-high-fibre diets saw us eating wholewheat pasta, bread, low fat everything, sweeteners and no dairy. Skip forward 20 years and we’re all stuffing our faces with bacon, eggs and butter because Dr Atkins tells us it’s the carbs that make us fat. Nowadays, it’s all about soy and superfoods, vegetables that kick start our metabolism and fruits that make us look younger. The idea of eating breakfast isn’t a new one, but what we eat and why we eat it changes constantly. Back in my Mum’s day you sat down with your family and ate a cooked breakfast to set you up for a hard days work. We now live in a more individualistic culture, so breakfast is less out connecting with your family and more about doing something to make you look better.

What’s important?

This collective obsession with how we look is cultivated through magazines, TV shows and the media in general. It’s not that caring about how you look and your health is bad, but the amount of time we think about these things, and the amount of money we spend on the latest diet book, exercise regime or beauty product is out of balance. I guarantee that every woman I know has spent way too much time worrying about a specific part of her body, how big or small it is in comparison to other women’s, what she can do to make it smaller, firmer or less prominent. We’ve bought DVDs, books and magazines to help us find the solution to this ongoing issue that is always in the back of our minds. We’ve asked our friends about how they manage their problem area, what they eat, how often they exercise, how much water they drink and where they buy their clothes. Enough! It’s not important, at least not important enough to think about every day. Because we know what to do, don’t we? We know what foods are good for us and not just because we’re constantly told by the media. We each know intrinsically what our body needs by the way that we feel.

Who are we listening to?

Yet we often disregard what our body is telling us. We prefer to follow our minds or take the advice of experts. This morning my mind was telling me to eat breakfast, but my body was saying, “I’m not hungry”. My mind was saying, “What do you know, body? You’re supposed to eat breakfast, so get on with it!” But my body won, much to my mind’s dismay. I’ve learnt over the years that if I want to feel healthy I listen to my body; not other people, not my mind and certainly not experts on TV. These bonafide scientific experts, who are of course just humans like you and me, are held up as infallible but, as with statistics, you can find one to prove whatever point you want to make. Let us remember that many scientific facts are simply theories and these theories change based on new discoveries. We now all accept that smoking is bad for our health, but in the 1940s everyone was puffing on the smokes and even doctors were recommending their favourite brand. A little bit of common sense should have told the population that inhaling smoke into their lungs wasn’t a great idea, but the notion of corporations caring more about profit than people’s health hadn’t taken hold, so puff away they did. After decades of denial from tobacco companies, we now know the health risks that come along with smoking and can make an informed choice based on all the facts.

Stop playing the blame game

Monsanto and their GMO food monopoly has been highlighted in the media for a while now, with protests happening around the world to either ban their products or, at the very least, label them correctly. Fox news recently jumped on the band wagon calling in experts to tell the American public that Monsanto may not have their best interests at heart, a message that many people were already getting from their own bodies after eating some of these foods. But most people choose to believe what the news tells them rather than heeding their own warning signs. Yet, if we disregard our common sense in favour of the advice of others we will continue to give our power away and damage our self-esteem. The more we damage our self-esteem the less we trust our own guidance and so we look to others to tell us what to do. Our society teaches us to be victims, to play the blame game to the point of ridiculousness. We can sue companies if we burn our lip on a hot beverage because they should have told us it was hot. We are encouraged to dumb ourselves down and relinquish responsibility for our actions by following rules that curtail our freedom and encourage a victim mentality. Of course, Monsanto shouldn’t be free to sell products that harm people, but while we still live in a world where governments favour big business over the safety of the population, it’s up to us to be more discerning and exercise our freedom of choice.

Remember who you are

The more we exercise this power the stronger we become. That inner strength and unwavering trust in our ability to make positive choices is the most valuable gift we can give ourselves. It is the gift of sovereignty. It helps us see that the lifestyle we’re sold is false and empty. We know that there is more to life than how we look and what we own. We know that if we’re depressed we don’t necessarily need to be medicated, we need to make a positive change. We know we are inherently kind, trustworthy and compassionate, we care about each other, we love the planet on which we live and we each know what is best for us. We may not always remember these things, but we do know them. Remembering them means we can’t hide behind victimhood, separation consciousness and ideas of ‘us versus them’. It’s a remembrance that we’re all responsible for ourselves, how we feel, what we experience, what we choose to believe and how we treat the planet. It’s time to shake off our sad stories, our need for constant guidance and take the reigns in this year of the Horse. We all know how to do this, we know how to live well. Let’s apply our own unique wisdom and not sell ourselves short any longer.

How to Turn Your Big Dream into a Joyful Reality

Anna Long-Stokes | Purpose Fairy

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” ~ Patanjali

When dreams are this GOOD we often keep them close to our heart because they are soooo blissful that sharing them might in some way taint them. You know what I mean?

Last December I was sitting in my newly purchased home in Portland Oregon doing my vision-board exercise (I say “annual” as though I do this each year…I think this was only my 2nd year!). I was looking out the window at the dreary day and although I was grateful for my new house…I KNEW that I couldn’t spend another winter in the dreary Northwest.

The only thing that brought a twinkly to my eye on a day so dreary was my BIG dream of moving to Mexico for the Winter. Unlike most people who save tropical paradise for their 60’s, I wanted it NOW (yesterday to be exact). This dream seemed pretty un-doable. I had just bought a house and even though I had started my consulting practice I wasn’t exactly profiting enough to quit my part-time/stable job.

I finished my vision board that day and spent the next month getting more clear on a plan to make my dream happen. I’m happy to say that not only will I be spending all Winter in Mexico this year, I also got married this summer and just got back from 2 months traveling all over Asia with my new husband! It’s been a magical year and I want to share 5 tips with you that I found essential in getting from where I was…to where I am.

How to turn your big dreams into reality and live the happy and meaningful life you truly deserve:

1. Dream Big & Dream Vivid

It may sound cliche, but if you can’t dream it, you won’t get it. So before you start putting together some half-assed plan to “make your life better”, allow yourself some “dreamin’ time” to get really clear on what you ACTUALLY want. I did a vision board (as many people do), but most of my dreaming happened in a special journal that I would bring around with me and work on when I could. About once a month I would go up to a great indoor hot springs in Oregon where I could be alone with my thoughts, swim, nap, draw and journal. That’s what worked for me…but you need to figure out what works for you!

When you dream big envision very vividly what you want, where you are, who you are with and how you want to feel. Don’t just write “I want to live in Mexico”. Cut out pictures on Mexico, envision eating food and smelling the ocean with your partner. Have some fun with this!

2. Set a Timeframe

Depending on your dream this could be 1 week or 10 years! I recommend selecting a timeframe that is realistic (so that you don’t set yourself up for disappointment), but also not too far out (so that you don’t lose sight).

I set my goal as 1 year away. I knew I wanted to spend next Winter in Mexico and I knew that I needed to build up my business enough to quit my job and work remotely.

3. Make a Plan

I don’t consider myself an abundance coach, but I have had great success with creating abundance in my life. I think it is because I dream big and then I actually make a plan to make it happen. Depending on your dream this could look like many things.

I created a step by step process where I figured out what I wanted and went backwards. So because I wanted to live in Mexico in one year (while working remotely), I had to make growing my business a main objective with well-defined income markers to help me then set goals of how many clients I needed to work with.

You see how that worked? I took a BIG dream and took that main barrier standing in my way (income for while I lived in Mexico) and broke it down into monthly goals so that I could quit my job and be ready to work in Mexico within a year. I also had to get a renter in my house to pay my mortgage while I was away, so I applied the same process to figuring out what steps I needed to take to make that happen (pack house, take pictures, post on rental site and interview renters, etc).

If you think having a vision board is enough, you will forever be disappointed…make your plan and make it measurable! If you’re not good at this, hire someone to help you! I help people all the time create strategy plans with business and your life is no different!

4. Share your dreams, drop your expectations

Here’s the deal; people don’t always have your back or want you to succeed. The fact that you have a dream can be enough to make people extremely uncomfortable. You could handle this by not telling anyone your dream or you could learn to manage how you take in negative feedback from others.

I used to share my dreams with people and be really disappointed if they didn’t react exactly how I wanted them to react (though I couldn’t quite articulate how I wanted them to react). This created an emotional roller coaster where I would feel excited when I was alone and alone when I shared my dreams to a room full of naysayers. Sometimes negative feedback is enough to completely mess with the dreamers head and throw them off course. This is BAD!

Instead I want YOU to change your mindset and your expectations…because at the end of the day, that is all you have control over.  So when you share your dreams and you are met with crickets, odd glances, or rude remarks realize one thing…its about THEM, not YOU. Your dreams are so big that they scare them (and that’s pretty cool!).

I can’t even begin to tell you all the stories where I had to apply this principle. If I had let all the naysayers have their way, I would be stuck in dreamy Portland drowning my Mexico dreams in watered down margaritas (no bueno!)

6 Things I Wish I Knew Before My First Relationship

Luminita Saviuc | Purpose Fairy

“At the end of our lives we will ask, Did I live? Did I love? Did I matter?” ~ Brendon Burchard

We hold on to relationships that are far from being loving.

We perceive ourselves as being incomplete, and we cling on to those who give us a feeling of completeness.

We run around searching for love, begging for love and hoping it will never leave us.

We have no idea what love is all about… We have no idea who we are, what we’re all about and what we really need from life.

So many of us confuse love with attachment, so many of us confuse love with codependency.

We feel so empty, so alone and so unhappy on our own and we learn that it’s okay to desperately look for people who will make us feel whole, happy and complete. There are so many other people who are doing this, so we might as well mirror their behavior, we might as well do what they’re doing.

For almost 10 years I held on to something I thought was love. For almost 10 years I expected to get a sense of completeness by being in a codependent relationship . Guess what? It didn’t really work. In fact, it failed miserably.

Well, what to do? We live and we learn. We let go and we move on…

What I will share with you today are 6 things I wish I knew before my first relationship, things I did not know back then, but I do know now :)

1. Codependency is no laughing matter

Codependency ain’t love and it ain’t gonna make anyone happy. It won’t make you happy and it will surely not make your partner happy. It can’t and it won’t.

If you enter a relationship because you think that you desperately need a partner, chances are that your relationship will become a big mess. And you know what the sad part is? You and your partner will not be the only ones affected by your choices, your children will too, if you plan to have any. Your children will learn from you and they will begin to look for love and approval in all the wrong places, confusing true love with codependency, just like you did. Because they will think of themselves as being incomplete, they will desperately seek to find their completeness in another person, expecting love and happiness to come from outside themselves, giving their power away.

Codependency is no laughing matter…

“I learned again and again in my life, until you get your own act together, you’re not ready for Big Love. What you’re ready for is one of those codependent relationships where you desperately need a partner.” ~ Bruce Lipton

2. Get to the root of you

Get to the root and make sure that your deep-rooted beliefs about love are matching your idea of an ideal love relationship. There’s a huge difference between the relationship you consciously want to create and the relationship you will unconsciously create. Your conscious mind controls only 5% of your life while the other 95% is controlled by your subconscious mind, to which you don’t really have access that easily. If you grew up in an environment where love wasn’t present and if you saw your parents arguing, fighting, acting all cold and not showing any sign of affection to one another, that’s what you will create, unconsciously.

“Your life will be transformed when you make peace with your shadow. The caterpillar will become a breathtakingly beautiful butterfly. You will no longer have to pretend to be someone you’re not. You will no longer have to prove you’re good enough. When you embrace your shadow you will no longer have to life in fear. Find the gifts of your shadow and you will finally revel in all the glory of your true self. Then you will have the freedom to create the life you have always desired.” ~  Debbie Ford

3. Travel light. Leave your baggage behind

Make peace with your past. Make peace with your “stuff”. Don’t carry the mess of your past into the present. If you have any mommy or daddy issues, work on cleaning that mess. Get rid of all the skeletons you kept hidden in your closet. Face your shadows, accept your own darkness. Bring light into your dark world.

If you want to build a happy, loving and healthy relationship, you have to start fresh, you have to leave your baggage behind, and since ”Everyone comes with baggage. Find someone who loves you enough to help you unpack.” ~ Unknown

4. It’s better to be alone than in “bad” company

It took me almost 10 years until I finally accepted and made peace with this idea and it’s true. It is better to be alone than in “bad” company, way better.

“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone, it’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people that make you feel all alone.” ~ Robin Williams

5. In giving away the control, you got it

Be willing to give up your need to control the other person. The more you try to control them, the more irritated you’ll both get and the more distance there will be created between the two of you.

Allow things to unfold naturally. Allow the other person to be just the way he or she is. Allow them to be just the way they are and see how much better will that make you feel. Give up your need for control and in giving away the control, you’ll get it.

Get Ready – Year of the Horse and 1/30 Super Moon

Selacia

Next week promises to be a powerful time for energy shifts and openings – especially with the super moon January 30 ahead of Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse officially starting the next day. These energies are auspicious and hold great potential for you on a personal level – helping you to connect with your destiny path and your true power to create as a multidimensional being of light.

In this article are suggestions for making the most of these beneficial energies, while also continuing your progress of forward movement this year. If you are like most people, you have likely had a number of highs and lows since 2014 began. There indeed has been, and continues to be, a generally lighter feel and tone compared with 2013.

That said, in the bigger picture you also sit within ongoing radical and challenging revolutionary energies that characterize these unique years of paradigm shift. Changes often are not easy, even the ones you want to make.

2014 a Peak Year

One reason is that 2014 is a peak year of your world being literally remade under your feet.

Other years have built to this one, and the shifting will continue for some time after 2014. Still, for those like you who are awakening and sensitive to energies, this year may feel more intense. You won’t always be able to identify the intensity, either, but you will likely sense it in the background.

Intensity isn’t necessarily bad, of course. You could feel intense joy as a project you have long dreamed of begins to take root. You could be meeting new people, too, including those who you don’t immediately connect with anything significant – but they are to be important for your future. These things can be exciting when they appear, your intuitive knowing showing you that you are starting to bring in needed partners and resources for your fuller life expression.

In tandem with that, any unfinished business from your past that’s in the way of your immediate next steps will be coming to light. When that happens, don’t judge it or get angry or worry.

Old Issues in the DNA

Do pay attention, though, and utilize your tools and resources to clear those issues at a DNA level. The things that surface may seem old, but trust that the elements arising are additional pieces of what you addressed before.

Consider this: the more intense feelings you have when issues arise, the more important they are for you to address. Keeping up to date with the process of energy clearing will accelerate your forward momentum.

For perspective, most life issues a person has now did not originate earlier in life, but in other lifetimes. Advanced practitioners understand this and keep things in perspective. For divine changemakers, this indeed is the lifetime when you have the most opportunity to clear your past – back to the root causes – accelerating your enlightenment.

Year of the Horse Energies

Understanding the energetic tone of a cycle like Chinese New Year can help you to advance on your path by leaps and bounds. That’s because you have foresight about the kinds of  energy you may encounter.

Horse years like we have in 2014, for example, are associated with fire and action. In these years, there tends to be lots of activity and much on your plate. Not everything needs to be done at once, of course, but it may seem that way!

On a positive note, you simply may feel more buoyant and able to tackle things that you have been putting on the back burner. The key to success is maintaining your balance, sense of timing, and awareness of what is in front of you right when it is in front of you. Many opportunities can come and go in such a year as this – you must be awake to them in order to act with divine timing.

Being grounded and centered in your heart will be vital to your success, too. The more that you can achieve this, the more you will be able to connect with your inner voice and spirit. Having that connection is essential for what you want to do, be, and have this year.

Make spirit your fueling system for action in this Year of the Horse. Spirit can help guide you through the windy terrain, the ups and downs, and the obstacle courses. A grounded spirit connection, too, can help you with prosperity. That’s because you are more in a state of flow and receiving, and more grounded about your relationship with money.

Working with the Super Moon

Utilize the January 30 super moon for potent visioning and creating an action plan for personal and spiritual progress in 2014. The new moon next week is called a super moon because of its powerful potentials for new beginnings. It’s actually the second new moon so far this year – making it even more influential. If you are doing an intentions process at the new moon, factor in the horse year energies being ignited the next day. See my earlier December 29 article for a new moon process you can update for next week’s super moon.

Big Picture for 2014

Getting back to the big picture for this year – don’t forget the role of the collective, too. Learn to become friends with the idea of unseen outside influences being a part of your creating process.

That is the truth anyway – you do not create your life or self-evolve on an isolated island somewhere. You live on the “island” of Earth, and indeed beyond that the cosmos. Everything is connected throughout time and space.

As you fully grasp what this means, it’s easier to let go and being in the flow that spirit can help facilitate. Intend now that you will benefit from these energies this year. Decide to participate fully with life and with the divine dance of creation. It is this that will allow you to thrive and to be in love and joy.

Manifesting the Mystic Morphic Field

Zen Gardener | Waking Times

There was an interesting article recently about researchers who found within the computer informational field what appears to be proof of foreknowledge of 9/11. The huge spike in chatter regarding the events immediately prior to the strikes is completely anomalous. In other words, it goes on to say, for it to be just a coincidence is next to impossible.

No big surprise. But what about this informational field?

They call this computer information world a type of “morphic field” or “information field” and it seems to be a virtual manifestation of the global mind. Not all of it of course, but the informational global mind, which at this point in history is a massive amount of generated information that’s accelerating by the hour.

Research in this field is also being investigated by other visionaries. By tracing trends in language using webbots that crawl the internet reading data with assigned values to various words, they’ve been able to often predict not only major events, trends and changes, but the specific nature and sometimes locations of future phenomena.

It’s not an exact science by any means, but this whole field starts to show the power of the literal electromagnetic informational mind as evidence of or a reflection of human consciousness, and we should pay close attention.

Language as a Manifestation of Consciousness

Language shared is clearly consciousness at work. This is our current fundamental method of communication. Perhaps general telepathy is on the horizon, but for now words backed by intention and no doubt other influences is how we understand communication.

Whichever, it only stands to reason that the greater the body of consciousness manifested, the greater the effect on the present, and hence the future.

In the words of Roger Nelson, founder of the Global Consciousness Project (GCP) from his book Quantum Mind p. 57;;

My own ‘model’ is that consciousness or mind is the source or seat of a non-local, active information field (this is not a standard, well defined physical construct). Such fields interact, usually with random phase relationship and no detectable product. When some or many consciousness (information) fields are driven in common, or for whatever reason become coherent and resonant, they interact in phase, and create a new, highly structured information field… that becomes the source of the effects we measure. Source

Pretty profound. When the accumulated consciousness fields are driven in common or show coherency or resonance, they create a new information field.

Sound interactive? That’s the whole point…we need to get busy manifesting Truth and Love within this field.

Morphic Resonance and Quantum Physics

Taking this field changing empowerment even further, morphic field theory is the “discovery” (coming into consciousness) that there’s a dynamic at work akin to the concept of non-separability and total connectivity that quantum physics has discovered. Reminiscent of Plato’s Theory of Forms, these interactive force fields give form to not just plants, animals, crystals, planets and the like, but to behavioral and social patterns. This is similar to the evolving informational field concept described above but even more profound. It is much like  Carl Jung’s collective unconscious understanding, but even broader while on a somewhat more so-called “scientific” footing.

It essentially is touching on the effect of Universal Consciousness coming into our experiential realm and our interaction with it. But again, morphic field study is the attempt to pursue this intuitive knowledge scientifically, so called, in a quantifiable way.

All part of the continued awakening of mankind, despite the manipulations, masking and withholding of knowledge by the controllers. Now you can see why so much is hidden from us – it’s fuel for our flux capacitors!

No worries, we’ll get our own.

The “Hypothesis” of Morphic Fields

All self-organizing systems are wholes made up of parts, which are themselves wholes at a lower level, such as atoms in molecules and molecules in crystals. The same is true of organelles in cells, cells in tissues, tissues in organs, organs in organisms, organisms in social groups. At each level, the morphic field gives each whole its characteristic properties and interconnects and coordinates the constituent parts.

The fields responsible for the development and maintenance of bodily form in plants and animals are called morphogenetic fields. In animals, the organization of behavior and mental activity depends on behavioral and mental fields. The organization of societies and cultures depends on social and cultural fields. All these kinds of organizing fields are morphic fields.

Morphic fields are located within and around the systems they organize. Like quantum fields, they work probabilistically. They restrict, or impose order upon, the inherent indeterminism of the systems under their influence. Thus, for example, a protein field organizes the way in which the chain of amino acids (the “primary structure” determined by the genes) coils and folds up to give the characteristic three-dimensional form of the protein, “choosing” from among many possible structures, all equally possible from an energetic point of view. Social fields coordinate the behavior of individuals within social groups, for example, the behavior of fish in schools or birds in flocks.

Pretty amazing..

The most controversial feature of this hypothesis is that the structure of morphic fields depends on what has happened before. They contain a kind of memory. Through repetition, the patterns they organize become increasingly probable, increasingly habitual. The force that these fields exert is the force of habit.

Whatever the explanation of its origin, once a new morphic field – a new pattern of organization – has come into being, its field becomes stronger through repetition. The same pattern becomes more likely to happen again. The more often patterns are repeated, the more probable they become. The fields contain a kind of cumulative memory and become increasingly habitual. Fields evolve in time and form the basis of habits. From this point of view, nature is essentially habitual. Even the so-called laws of nature may be more like habits. Source

This Is How The Lying Matrix Thrives

Social engineers for eons have known this underlying dynamic in their own terms. The latest rash of modern psychopathic societal designers identified these causal and potentially liberating or captivating trends at whatever level of understanding, and set in place educational and society-modifying mechanisms to keep humanity from spontaneous, self-supporting growth centuries ago.

Left to our own we would naturally be drawing from consciousness new and beneficial “memes” or morphic fields to develop and help humanity, and not extinguish and control it like our current overlords of darkness.

In other words: we’ve been sterilized, castrated, knee-capped, lobotomized and asphyxiated from the Truth and Knowledge of who we truly are and our incredible power to manifest and shape a loving, conscious world around us.

As long as we let them fill the airwaves, ground waves and mind waves with their limiting, manipulative, oppressive and distracting propaganda and electromagnetic crap and don’t activate vibrational Truth to reverse the trend, society is literally being pushed off the map of true human awareness into the maw of a mental and social meat grinder.

It’s Up to Us

It’s entirely up to each of us what we do with this amazing energetic system. We can harm or we can heal. We can go along with the status quo or we change it. It will simply reflect whatever is put into it in its own fascinating way, and is doing its job at all times whether we acknowledge it or not.

And it’s there for conscious use if you choose. We’re eternal consciousness connected to everything, yet we’re free agents to choose good and Truth and Love, or darkness, evil and hate.

The beauty of this knowledge is the realization that every letter you write, every item you blog, every word you speak, every thought you think, every prayer or intention you utter, every loving or non-loving deed, every decision to do the right thing or not…EVERYTHING….is forming the world in which we live..societal, informational and the underlying morphic world which we all share.

Every time someone watches mindless TV, gets spellbound by things like Hollywood or war programming, or entertains the Matrix meme in any way, they are supporting and perpetrating the death-dealing, humanity perverting lie. Period.

While on the contrary…

The Internet Highway of Information and Transformation

…Every time you blog with good and helpful information, forward an inspiring or Truth-revealing article, post an idea or heart-warming picture or uplifting message, encourage a fellow activist in their efforts, do a kind or loving deed or reach out and shake someone up…EVERY TIME…you are changing the morphic field…for the better! All while subtracting from a negative imprint by everyone involved.

Which will it be?

Will we contribute to the wake up, or be part of the problem? It’s a continual choice. There’s no standing still. Either way we all affect it.

It’s that simple. That serious. That real. And that liberating!

Put Your Shoulder to the Shift

Hopefully this awareness of how pervasive the dynamics of intention, attraction, information, communication and consciousness are will spur you on. It has me. I’ve known this dynamic was at work but to see it in this light was empowering.

And participating and really making a difference that matters couldn’t be any easier than it is today. You can do gobs of damage to the oppressors’ constructs and help establish the righteous rule of Truth, Love and Consciousness by just putting it out there. Manifest it in the morphic field any and every way you can and it goes to work immediately and affects everything!

Even according to nerdy quantum physics, intelligent life on this planet now knows everything you do affects everywhere in mind-blowing, non-linear or spatially limited ways. We are all interconnected with everything! What more empowering information could there be?

Is This the Moment For a Deeper Uprising?

Positivenews | Jan 23rd 2014

peaceAs we reach environmental and economic limits, the time is ripe and immanent for political change, but we need both inner and outer transformation if we are to create a better future, writes Paul Fletcher

It was interesting to see the recent Positive News editorial drawing attention to the new profile adopted by comedian Russell Brand, following his BBC Newsnight interview with Jeremy Paxman. The interview has now been viewed more than nine million times on YouTube. It seems that Brand has decided to step into history, and because only a few others are doing it in the mainstream, he is issuing a call, particularly to young people, to wake up and realise that the time for radical change has arrived.

In 1978, American political theorist Mark Satin published a book called New Age Politics that argued for the need to build a new political ideology because the old system was bankrupt. He called for a new, simpler way of living not based on consumerism; decentralisation of the political system; and to take global responsibility (think globally, act locally). Underlying his argument was that patriarchy, ego, the single scientific view, bureaucracy, strident nationalism and our divorce from nature has kept our consciousness trapped at a low level for hundreds of years. Although the book was greeted with praise and relief in some circles, it was harshly criticised by both conservative and left wing ideologues. However, Satin went on to found the New Options newsletter, bringing together and giving voice to pioneering thinkers such as Willis Harman, Hazel Henderson, Petra Kelly, Joanna Macy, Fritjof Capra, Carl Rogers and Theodore Roszak.

During the last 18 months something spectacular has been unfolding. Edward Snowden dared to whistleblow on the extent of global surveillance, following it up in Channel 4’s Alternative Christmas Message by calling for a complete end to mass surveillance. Malala Yousafzai, the young woman who was shot in the head and nearly killed for daring to speak out about the need for women’s education in Pakistan, addressed the United Nations on 12 July 2013 calling for worldwide access to education for all people. UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon described her as “our hero.” Then, on 5 December 2013, the death of Nelson Mandela gave the whole world an opportunity to look back at the example he set in compassion and forgiveness while creating massive social change through non-violence and reconciliation.

Returning to Brand, we hear him articulating a message that the cultural foundations of our society may be changing. He is explaining the need for a new map. He is pointing out that super-rich elites have used governments to run things for too long and argues that spiritual principles have political ramifications, calling for those who are hearing this message to dedicate themselves to build a new world.

This has to be both an inner and outer transformation to be successful, and in Brand’s view, politics could become “the implementation of spiritual values.” He also, excitingly, argues that artists could be part of this by becoming the cultural engineers of a new way of living. This moment is ripe and immanent because we have reached the extreme limits of the Earth’s biosphere, the limits of materialism and the limits of growth.

In his 1999 book Imagine All The People, the Dalai Lama concluded that “rapid changes in our attitude toward the earth are also a source of hope… Now Mother Nature is telling us to co-operate… Unless we all work together, no solution will be found.” By working together we discover the human need for transcendence and connection, embracing the requirements of protest, non-ego, humour, spirituality and meditation. So this moment is defined not by political protest, but by an uprising of the soul.

9 Truths You Should Know by Now

Luminita Saviuc | Purpose Fairy

“In school, you’re taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson.” ~  Tom Bodett

Life has a very interesting way of teaching us many of the many things we need to learn, don’t you think? It seems to me that the more we hold on to this idea of how life should be, how events should unfold, how people should treat us and how happiness should be packaged and delivered to us, the more we suffer. Happiness is nothing more than a balance between holding on and letting go but this is a different story.

What I will share with you today are 9 simple yet powerful truths we learn as we go through this beautiful journey called life.

1. Life is a process of becoming.

We go through life to find ourselves, to become ourselves.

Don’t be afraid to make “mistakes”. Don’t be afraid to “fail”. Have fun in all that you do. The more things you do in life, the more things you’ll learn from life.  Enjoy the journey because that’s what life is all about. It’s not about rushing towards a final destination, its about enjoying the journey…

“When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. As you see him you will see yourself. As you treat him you will treat yourself. As you think of him you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in him you will find yourself or lose yourself. ” ~ Helen Shucman

2. You are exactly where you need to be.

If you’re in a really dark place right now, chances are that you’ll not be too pleased to know this, but the truth of the matter is that “Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at the moment.” ― Eckhart Tolle

You can either choose to accept or resist what is, and based on your choice you will find the clarity and the strength to move forward in life, or stay stuck. It’s all up to you. The power is in your hands.

3. Let Go of Fear. Love is all you need.

May sound like a cliche, but the truth of the matter is that LOVE is all you need. Love is the only thing that’s real, the only thing that matters. By closing the door to your heart and by building walls between you and the whole world, you won’t keep suffering away from your life, you will keep it in your life!

Can’t you see?

It’s that closed door and those fearful walls that are causing you to experience all that pain. Open the door to your heart. Let go of fear. Tear down the walls you have built and allow trust, light and love to govern your heart.

“Fear condemns and love forgives. Forgiveness thus undoes what fear has produced.” ~ A Course in Miracles

4. Forget about your age.

Who cares how young or old you are? It’s not your age that’s standing between you and all the wonderful thing you long for, it’s you! Your thoughts, your beliefs, your excuses and your self imposed limitations are the ones that keep you from acting on your heart’s desire. Age has nothing to do with it. If you inner fire is still burning and if you’re really passionate about crafting the life of your dreams, worrying about your age will be the last thing on your mind.

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” ~ Mark Twain

5. Life will give you whatever you ask for.

Life is good with those who think they deserve to receive good things, and “bad” with those who think they deserve to receive “bad things. Life gives you whatever you ask of it. It doesn’t discriminate.

If you want to receive great things from life, you have to ask for them, but not only that. You also have to feel worthy of receiving them, and you have to be willing to take the necessary steps that will help you achieve the things you want to achieve. None of the things you want will just fall into your lap – you’ve got to go out and work for them.

“I bargained with Life for a penny, and Life would pay no more, however I begged at evening when I counted my scanty store. . ‘For Life is a just employer, he gives you what you ask, but once you have set the wages, why, you must bear the task. ‘I worked for a menial’s hire, only to learn dismayed, that any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid.” ~ My Wage by Jessie B. Rittenhouse ‘

6. Life isn’t as bad as you THINK it is.

We all have crazy thoughts running through our heads but that doesn’t mean we have to believe everything we think. Whenever a negative and toxic thought runs through your mind, replace it with a positive one. That’s how it’s done. That’s how you go from negative to positive thinking. One step at a time, one thought at a time.

“Thoughts are like an open ocean, they can either move you forward within its waves, or sink you under deep into its abyss.” ~ Anthony Liccione

7. It’s not them, it’s You.

The world is not against you, it really isn’t. It’s not the world that’s against you, it’s you that’s against the world and by rebelling against the world you are in fact rebelling against yourself.  Make peace with yourself and the whole world will make peace with you.

“Nothing external to you has any power over you.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Mind is the Matrix of Matter

Julie Henderson | Waking Times

The late and great metaphysician, Stuart Wilde, said that if and when your energy is moving faster than the world around you, you have a kind of destiny, or a calling, something that pulls your mind and emotions and etheric into another place beyond this dimension that we inhabit in the name of growth and evolution. If you’re not busy being bogged down or stressed out by certain things that most people are, if you aren’t in any dodgy situations, and if your focus is primarily on learning, discovery, renewal, healing, serving others, resolving conflict, keeping the peace, or being creative… then somehow you begin to serve a separate (but not better or worse) purpose. At that point, when you’ve reached a new “plateau of self-discovery,” and things become comfortable, you are supposed to begin a new search for the next destination encapsulated by more advanced learning, rich experiences, and discoveries. By enhancing your life and your journey, you automatically raise the energy of those who are pulled to you.

Sometimes “rock bottom,” whether it be in relationships, home life, or career, can be transformed into a new plateau of learning, self-discovery, healing, or crux of renewal. Often the personal triumphs accumulated in the process influence or open the door for another person to become more, or simply become part of “the Whole” again, which exists within their eternal selves. If we can guide at least one more soul back to the God and the Divine living with them by way of our individual transformation, then somehow our presence here becomes a force of Grace instead of a force that works against Gaia and the natural evolutionary flow. We’re called to serve in whatever way we can with whatever means we have at our disposal, and of course with whatever talents or skills we can bring to the table. We’re not all great scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, or movers and shakers wielding great powers of influence. Instead, we’re just average people who’ve woken up to a new truth, a new potential for our shared and co-created realities, or at the very least a means of evolving beyond the constraints and restrictions of prescribed reality as we see and experience it day to day.

Whether or not we are prepared, we are called to pick up the proverbial torch and shed light on the path for another. The Underground Railroad comes to mind, as does every subversive movement on behalf of gaining independence, freedom, knowledge, strength, empowerment, and liberation for the awakened soul and opened heart. At some point, we have all discovered a loophole, a gap, a secret passageway, a wormhole, or an offramp that led us to a new perception, a greater understanding and awareness of ourselves and each other, or an acceptance of our responsibility in looking after Creation, this planet, the animals, other human beings, and the God-force within our own being. We become reverent, humble, grateful for the least significant but most valuable things we have going for us in our lives. Whatever blessings are already in place, whatever nourishment provides a foundation for higher learning and the continued pursuit of our soul’s salvation and transformation, is something to be thankful for every single day. It allows us to discover the underground without the added burden of mechanical survival tactics in a competitive, Capitalistic society devoid of virtue and Dharma.

It’s not clear where or when or how the transition and great shift will come about collectively, or if it will all at once. It has been happening gradually in stages so as not to shatter the world by rocketing the planet’s collective vibration all at once. If it’s happening more frequently at the individual level, then it will inevitably take shape at the global and macrocosmic levels of consciousness. The best of what we are and all that we are capable of achieving as evolving spiritual beings is yet to come. There is a path, a secret passageway, a hidden tunnel, a loophole, and a gap that each of us maintains within our own awakened being. We shed a light on that path for ourselves, not realizing that perhaps one or two others, as a result, might have a chance of following a more fortuitous song line back home to the Heartland, to the Divine, or to the sacred places in this world and the infinite parallel worlds of which we are all a part. We are all hazy-wave-potentials which become observable particles by way of a perceivable matrix, but as the perceptions and consciousness that create the matrix naturally change, we become instead Eternal Dancers: swirling, vibrating, illuminating gusts of atoms and sacred dust that compose us as infinite, multidimensional sources of energy. At that point, we enter the Sacred Void with humbled reverence, proper gratitude, and acceptance of the fact that we, once again, know nothing. With no particular knowledge, no authority over anything or anyone, and no need to defend a Truth that needs no defense, we just ride, float, dream, or dance…

“There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.” –Max Planck, quantum theorist

All this may take on our part is for us to shed a little light on the unbeaten path for a brave soul like ourselves, and beyond that, a shared celebration of a journey that delivers us into realms of freedom, bliss, liberation, joy, happiness, resolution, forgiveness, understanding, and magnanimous compassion beyond our wildest dreams and imaginations in this realm or any other. Those worlds are inches from us at any given moment, and they are sustained by our focused thought, sharpened instincts, heartened intent, and determination to deliver ourselves safely into those Heartlands and their unending celebrations of life’s sacred nature. With each day that passes, more and more individuals are waking up without any care or need for conflict, without any desire to combat corrupt, tyrannical systems that are bound to collapse in on themselves, and without any concern as to the world’s condition. We know and trust that She will renew herself. We trust that God, Creator, Maitreya, Kuan Yin, Jesus Christ, Krishna, and all other avatars of God-source Energy are sovereigns of this renewed Earth, both before, during, and after Her great transformation.

If each and every one of us suddenly decided to believe in and support a different matrix when we woke up tomorrow, the world would change overnight. If we chose freedom instead of fear, courage instead of cowardice, strength instead of weakness, love and compassion instead of anger and misunderstandings, or forgiveness and mercy instead of holding grudges, then we’d be gracefully gliding through some kind of utopia instantaneously. There would be nothing to sustain the previous matrix grid of collective shame, fear, anger, deceit, betrayal, lies, and illusions. The energy and vibration of our collective souls would suddenly cast off all lower-vibrating tendencies and dark masses to exchange them for warmth, tenderness, love, generosity, humor, hospitality, compassion, respect, dignity, honor, cleanliness, purity, graciousness, honesty, integrity, virtue, truth, and all things Godly and righteous. We’d be living in a kind of Heaven on Earth.

“And what we’ve discovered at the core basis of the universe, the foundation of the universe, is a single unified field of intelligence; a field that unites gravity with electromagnetism, light with radioactivity, with the nuclear force. So that all the forces of nature and all the so-called particles of nature – quarks, leptons, protons, neutrons – are now understood to be one. They’re all just different ripples on a single ocean of existence that is the unified field… And that field is a non-material field. It is ultimately a field of consciousness and everything in the universe is nothing but that. Planets, trees, people, animals – we’re all just waves of vibration of this underlying, unified, superstring field…” –John Hagelin, particle physicist

The seed of those heavens and celestial realms where that bliss exists lies in waiting to sprout and be cultivated in every awakened mind. It’s not difficult to imagine a world where these gifts and that measure of Grace can be achieved and sustained; the only difficulty is in trusting that we can collectively produce that shift en masses, all at once. It is possible, but it’s challenged every day by those who fear change, those who fear love and want to hold onto their anger, or those who simply don’t understand what it means to be free, to be liberated, and to be Divine. The Hopi adequately described the catastrophic destruction that such beings would encounter by trying to rigidly hold on during this time of transformation. Naturally, anything asymmetrical, impure, inorganic and not “of God,” would be eradicated or fall away in the case of a Great Cleanse. And nature would be restored to its most simple, pure, and rare state. A matrix of peace, an era of chivalry, and an age of enlightenment would disintegrate the old matrix and meticulously weave a new grid of liberation and creativity in its place. It’s possible. That shift is nigh in every awakened mind and heart, and our mind is the matrix of matter.

Healing the Divine Warrior “The Wounded Dragon” (includes video & guided meditation)

By Open | Openhand | Jan 22nd 2014

Healing the Divine WarriorHumanity is entering the cauldron of catalytic change
At a soul level, the strength of our yearning is collectively challenging a society founded on injustice and inequity. Catastrophic meltdown is on the horizon. How do we progress from here? We must recognise that the capitalistic nightmare has been the outer reflection of our own internal darkness – the ‘raptor consciousness’, desperately efforting to placate an inherent sense of lack. If society is to change for the better, we must transmute these inner energies to heal our own lives and those of the wider community. We must heal this Divine Warrior – the “Wounded Dragon”…

Dealing with our karmic baggage

The ‘raptor consciousness’ of consumption has been around since the dawning of time. It happens as presence gets lost and revels in the illusion of physicality. All manner of distorted behaviours develop. It was there for example when ‘Adam’ took a big bite out of the proverbial apple. And like other places, it’s very much thriving in the ‘Big Apple’ today. But you can’t simply sit on your higher laurels and distance yourself from it. Avoidance creates denial meaning you’ll simply have to come back at some future point and deal with the karmic baggage. It is exactly this devolved responsibility, which by unconsciousness consumerism, is progressively devouring our planet.

Inspiring our Greatest Achievements

Yet the energy at the core of this distortion – the Divine Warrior – can be highly beneficial to each and every one of us. It has inspired our greatest achievements, fueling the courage, commitment and the passion to manifest for the better of all life. It’s what gets you out of bed in the morning, sparks the glint in your eye and simply won’t lay down and die.

So how can we transmute these distorted energies to work for our own and the collective good?
How can we bridge potential economic melt down which would likely shatter society?

Lets transform society together

Since the turn of the year when we’ve felt powerful inflows of higher catalytic energies to confront this raptor consciousness and break it down, we’ve been working to transmute it through the field. And we’re inviting others to join us for their own creative benefit and that of society. So here’s a short documentary video we’ve felt divinely given to produce and share. It’s offered together with a transformative guided meditation which you can listen to freely online or download to your MP3 player. We think it’s important and so we thank you for sharing widely.

First the video:

And here’s the guided meditation: You can listen online here…

We wish you well in healing the Wounded Dragon.

Now more than ever, we need to heal it within ourselves and the wider global community.

Balancing The Polarities: How The Darkness Helps Us Evolve

Sam Welsby | in5d.com

Hands-up, who really likes themselves?

It’s one of those questions that makes people squirm. If we say ‘yes’ we might be labeled as arrogant, if we say ‘no’ people might catch on that we have low self-esteem, so most people will play it safe and say ‘sometimes’. That covers all bases, we’re not full of ourselves or under confident, we like our good points but not our bad. And herein lies the problem. It’s difficult to have lasting self-esteem if we place conditions on attaining it. If we believeour self-esteem will improve when we’re thinner, richer or kinder we’re standing on shaky ground, and while we may like ourselves when we reach our goals the feeling often doesn’t last for long. The dissatisfaction and critical inner voice returns telling us we need to do or be something different before we can feel good.

For many of us self-esteem is, ironically, related to how other people and society perceives us. We are taught from a young age that in order to have high self-esteem we need a job we love, or one that pays well, a happy relationship, a home of our own, a healthy bank account, fashionable clothes, a fit body that’s desirable to others, defined goals that usually involve moving up some kind of progressional ladder and a myriad of other external factors. More people are becoming aware of the importance of looking within to find happiness and self-acceptance, an idea present in many religious and philosophical traditions that are gaining popularity today, but we then encounter a set of mental, emotional and for some, spiritual requirements that also need to be met before we can truly like ourselves.

It’s important to understand that we are all made up of different parts that can be equated the to different roles we play in our lives; parent, friend, employee, partner. Some of these parts are more archetypal such as the joker, the child, the saboteur or the victim. Like the disparate and seemly disconnected ingredients of a soup they come together to form our personality. Some parts we like more than others, just as we may like carrots more than we like cabbage, and some parts we leave out of the mix within our consciousness because we don’t like them at all.

Balance vs. transcendence

Reconciling all our parts, with their different motivations, beliefs and emotional baggage can be difficult as they are often at odds with each other. Our parental part may think saving money for the future is a great idea but our teenage part may sabotage that behavior in favor of present moment gratification. We all deal with these polarities within ourselves, but we often don’t realize that the aspects of our personalities we judge to be ‘bad’ often have something important to show us. If we allow ourselves to accept these parts and really feel the associated emotions we often find the hidden gems that spur us on to evolve. Often the more palatable option is to suppress the ‘bad’ and focus only on the ‘good’, but if we ignore what we don’t like it increases in strength;; we become more angry, more depressed or more deluded. By understanding we are all a complex mix of conflicting beliefs, thoughts and feelings, that make most of us hypocrites some of the time, we can start to feel better about ourselves right now.

That isn’t to say that we stop trying to improve ourselves. Accepting the status quo can often hinder our personal growth as we can fall into the transcendence trap that tells us to rise above all that is ugly within ourselves as opposed to balancing the polarities within. Spiritual practices, such as meditation and yoga, provide a refuge from the constant chatter of our minds and are important if we are to gain peace and clarity, but they can also become a form of escapism that keeps us stuck in denial about who we are. Acknowledgment and acceptance of our polarities not only leads to a more authentic sense of self, but gives us the courage to take positive action on both a personal and global level.

As within, so without

While we may feel discomfort when we look at the darker sides of our personalities, this provides the catalyst we need to make changes. We can see this happening on a global scale as we face an increase in social, economical, political and ecological unrest that is prompting, what some are calling, a paradigm shift. A collective apathy has been present in our culture for many years which has allowed the darker side of humanity to proceed unhindered, and while this is difficult for some to accept, for others it is the wake up call they needed to start taking action towards positive change.

This awakening of humankind is akin to an activation of global self-esteem that helps us speak out against injustice. Our collective gut instinct, that tells us things aren’t quite right, has kicked into gear bringing clarity and discernment to what we choose to believe. This level of discernment is one of the most important features of global or personal self-esteem. It allows each of us to navigate through the depths of ourselves and the plethora of revelatory news stories to decide what is truth and what is distraction.

Time to Let Go

Laura Dion-Jones | all things healing

We all have something we need to let go of.

For some, it’s our unhealthy, excess weight, the food we’re eating to keep ourselves overweight, or our lack of exercise.

For others, letting go is of an altogether different description.

I’m struggling with letting go of something of an intense personal nature right now, but I will tell you this: I have let go of ever wanting, ever needing to be fat ever again. It no longer serves me.

How does being overweight serve you?

I figured out exactly how to keep my unhealthy, excess weight off – finally – for once and for all after a lifetime of chronic obesity by letting go of the white starch and sugar carb poison that kept me fat. Now I’m here to help you….You’ve got to let go of all the bad habits and excuses.

Let it all go . . .

That’s what my hope is for you, that you find the secret to true and everlasting weight loss – each in your own way – just like I did.

She Let Go
by Ernest Holmes

“She let go. Without a thought or word, she let go.

She let go of the fear. She let go of the judgments. She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head. She let go of the committee of indecision within her. She let go of all the “right” reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice. She didn’t read a book on how to let go. She didn’t search the scriptures. She just let go. She let go of all the memories that held her back. She let go of all the anxiety that kept her from moving forward. She let go of the planning and all the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go. She didn’t journal about it. She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer. She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper. She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope. She just let go.

Scientists Write Open Letter to Investigate Telepathy

telepathy500a

Is telepathy real? Can information pass from one mind to another independent of the standard “five senses”? Surveys have repeatedly shown that a vast majority of the general public believe in at least one kind of so-called paranormal phenomena, and a belief in telepathy nearly always features strongly. Although academics and scientists are often shy to openly discuss such subjects, there is evidence that many are secretly quite favourable to the existence of psi phenomena. For example, in 1994 Bem and Honorton cited a survey of over a thousand college faculty in the USA. That survey found that over fifty-five percent of natural science faculty members either strongly believe in telepathy is an established fact or a strong likelihood. The figure for the Social Sciences was sixty-six percent, while seventy-seven percent was the figure in arts, humanities, and education.

Thus, even though cognitive processes such as ESP, remote viewing and precognition are rarely seriously discussed in mainstream education and science, they nonetheless form part of our culture. Indeed, they form part of most human beings’ life experience.

While many people assume that the scientific evidence for psi cognition is weak or absent, the truth is that it is very good. In fact the evidence is strong enough that nearly 100 scientists and academics have very recently called for more open investigation of “anomalous cognition”. Their letter was published in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience. Signatories included  Etzel Cardeña, Daryl Bem, Robert Jahn and Nobel prize winner (physics) Brian Josephson.

The main points found in the letter can be summarised as follows.

1)    Research on parapsychological phenomena is being carried out in accredited universities and research centers throughout the world by academics in different disciplines trained in the scientific method. Many of these people are highly distinguished researchers, including Nobel laureates

2)   Results supporting the validity of psi phenomena continue to be published in peer-reviewed, academic journals in relevant fields, from psychology to neuroscience and physics. 3)    Increased experimental controls have not eliminated or even decreased significant support for the existence of psi phenomena.

4)    Data supportive of psi phenomena cannot reasonably be accounted for by chance or by a “file drawer” effect (failure to report unsuccessful studies).

5)    The effect sizes reported in most meta-analyses are relatively small and the phenomena cannot be produced on demand, but this is not uncommon in psychology and medicine.

6)    Psi phenomena do not violate known laws of nature given modern theories in physics that transcend classical restrictions of time and space, combined with growing evidence for quantum effects in biological systems.

All those who placed their name on the open letter are in explicit agreement that current mainstream science is biased. As a culture science is not assessing the evidence objectively. Instead it is being weighed down by outdated belief structures regarding the way the universe – and the human mind  – operates.

Yet what interests me most about the publication of this letter is that Frontiers in Human Neuroscience is a mainstream academic journal, and not specifically devoted to the study of the “paranormal”. This is yet more evidence for what I term The Great Mind Shift – the global awakening to the reality of the extended mind. There is a major transformation emerging in science and society which signifies a dramatic change in science, education, business and life itself. This development is not merely a trend, but heralds a major civilisational shift in the understanding of humankind’s relationship with the universe. The Great Mind Shift is the acceptance of the truth that consciousness and intelligence are not accidental bi-products of localised physical systems, but represent fundamental aspects of both life and cosmos. Consciousness is intimately interwoven with nature and the world. It is non-local and extends through time and space. We do not yet fully understand the mechanisms for processes which mediate the extended mind, but the evidence for non-local nature of consciousness is now so fully compelling that it cannot be denied.

But what does all this mean?

I am not so much interested in trying to prove that this shift is underway (though that is part of what I do). What drives me is my commitment to leap-frog to the next stage of the planetary evolution of the human mind. I am fascinated by the investigation of what will happen once the extended mind becomes widely accepted. What will it mean for society as a whole? Nor is my position passive. I see we humans not as mere observers but as co-creators. It is the actions we take and the attitudes we adopt which will help create all our possible and preferred futures. Mapping such paths to desirable futures is an important part of what I do.

While much about the future remains imprecise, one thing is certain. With this dramatic shift in our perception of mind, the human intellect can be greatly expanded by what I call “integrated intelligence” – the successful employment of the extended mind in solving problems and creating the future. The way that the awareness and employment of integrated intelligence will dramatically impact the future is vitally crucial for human survival and “thrival”.

Let me make something clear. I am not saying that The Great Mind Shift is a social or cultural development which might happen; in, say, the way someone might predict that 3D printing will be big next year. The great mind shift is an inevitable revolution in science, education and society which is already underway. It is certain to happen because it is now beyond reasonable doubt that the extended mind is an extant property of life and cosmos. The greater acceptance that human consciousness is far more expansive than previously thought represents a wonderful opportunity for those perceptive enough to foresee what is coming.

Are you perceptive enough?

And what is coming? Well, that is something I must leave for another day. Or join me and Stephen Pirie at Resonant Futures to keep abreast of developments.

Embracing Compassion as a Catalyst for Healthy Change

Hiba Giacoletto | Purpose Fairy

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” ~  Carl Rodgers

I used to believe I could whip myself into healthy change. That through iron discipline and willpower, I could mold myself into the person I wanted to be.

It worked, of course…for about a week. I went through a few days of model eating, cutting out gluten one week, sugar the next. But then I would crash and go through a phase of eating anything and everything before I found the ‘motivation’ to start all over again.

It was never ending. And quite useless, really. I was missing the point. The point that fear and guilt do not lead to lasting change. And that self-compassion is the missing ingredient for healthy change.

Sounds strange? I thought so, too. Like most people, I thought showing myself compassion would lead to laziness and complacency.  Yet research shows that self-compassion is actually more conducive to change than being critical of ourselves. After all, if you reject your body and convince yourself you can only embrace it when it changes, how do you expect to take care of it right now to give it what it the love it needs to actually change?

To illustrate this notion, which of the following voices are you most likely to listen to if you were trying to find the motivation to go to the gym?

Voice 1: “Look at you, you disgust me – you’re so fat, I hardly recognize you anymore. Get up NOW and go to the gym to get that lazy ass into shape.”

Voice 2: “ Poor you, this has been a really difficult period and you really deserve to watch TV instead of going to the gym. It won’t make much difference anyway, you can always go tomorrow!”

Voice 3: “I understand this is a really difficult period and that you don’t feel like exercising right now. I care for you and I want you to look and feel your best – and I know you’ll feel better after going to the gym.”

I am sure you’ll agree that the Voice 3 is a lot nicer to carry around in your head – and the one most likely to get you to the gym! But be honest – which one are you more likely to use? Most people talk to themselves with the voice of a harsh critic, much like Voice 1, and believe showing themselves compassion to be like Voice 2.

Do Your Beliefs Reflect Reality or Create It?

Enoch Tan | trans4mind

Have you ever wondered whether your beliefs reflect reality or create it? The answer to the question is realized in understanding the concept of objective and subjective reality and the difference between the two. Most people believe that objective reality is made up by the physical laws that govern the universe. The laws of gravity, thermodynamics, electromagnetism are some of those laws. But the truth is that even the physical laws themselves are governed by higher laws of reality.

Quantum physics states that everything in the most minute level is actually pure energy that is conscious, intelligent and living. This energy is directed and governed by consciousness itself. Therefore the physical laws of the universe are actually governed by the mental laws of consciousness. The physical is ruled by the spiritual.

Now although we know that mind rules over matter, that does not suffice to say that we can go ahead and attempt to defy the law of gravity by jumping off a cliff just for the fun of it, without a real and strongly justifiable purpose of doing so. This is where some people misunderstand the truth and why they go and do stupid things which land them in undesirable consequences.

The physical laws of the universe are not governed by the mind of a single individual alone but by the universal mind. The universal mind is the infinite intelligent consciousness of God which is connected to the minds of every single living thing in the universe. It is the universal mind that determines whether a physical law of reality is subjugated by the mind of an individual or not.

In the event where a person manages to defy a physical law of reality, it is because he/she is in harmony with the will and purpose of the universal mind. That is the reason why miracles happen in this world where people are saved from certain death or experience divine providence and empowerment.

So objective reality is the spiritual laws of the universe. That which is immutable, unchanging and constant. It exists whether you believe in it or not, that’s why it is objective reality. It is not subjected to your individual mind alone but by the universal mind that is greater and above all.

Spirituality is defined as “belief in those aspects of reality that are not of this world or this material universe.” But all reality is truly spiritual in essence.
