How to Catapult to New Heights in 2015

“It's no good staying where it's comfortable if you are craving the extravagant!”

Old Thinking, Old Results

Let's cut the crap here and go straight for the jugular:

You can't expect new results using old techniques.

New Years resolutions are tiring out nearly everyone on this planet (just check your Facebook feeds for proof) and the personal let-downs most of us experience after breaking these pacts roughly 2 weeks into the new year can negatively impact our self-esteem and confidence.

This can result in little to no desire to positively change what needs changing in our lives.  We're hamsters on the treadmill, going over the same old ground, rarely producing refreshing new results.

Time For Change!

Success and achievement are personal, so there's no blanket solution.  However, there are new perspectives that might give you a clearer picture of what's going on in your life to prevent the changes you desire.

You may want to ask yourself:

  • Are your goals overwhelming you?  Did they seem feasible when you were sipping Champagne on New Years Eve but now that reality has sunken in, you're feeling engulfed?  SOLUTION:  Take it slow.  Rome wasn't built in a day and neither should your goals be implemented within 24 hours (unless you are Kiefer Sutherland).  Allow yourself to take baby steps to the grand result and map your way to achieving success in a sustainable fashion.
  • Are you wanting change but have no idea what it is you want to change to?  This is a real problem that has come up a lot in conversation lately — we yearn for something different, a break in the ‘Ground Hog Day' syndrome, but we don't know what it looks like…yet. SOLUTION:  Surf.  Shuffle your mouse and cruise the waves of the internet for ideas.  Peruse sites like Pinterest for hobbies, new looks, the perfect mate or whatever else you feel you want to experience this year.  Then compile all your findings onto your vision board and put it somewhere you'll see it every day.
  • Are you just simply treading over old ground and feel world weary?  In other words, have you made the same promises to yourself and never delivered, now you're all like ‘why bother?'  SOLUTION:  Think big or go home.  We are beings who say we want change but actually shy away from it.  It's that old fear of success and/or the shock of stepping outside your comfort zone.  The thing is, magic starts to happen the moment you take that leap of faith.  It's no good staying where it's comfortable if you are craving the extravagant!  What is it that you really want?  Can you see it?  What does it look like?  Print it out and stick it to your fridge.  Every day remind yourself of what it feels like to have accomplished it.  If you feel yourself sliding backwards and creeping into your box of complacency visualize Master Yoda saying to Luke Skywalker, ‘Do or do not — there is no try!'  Get your inner Jedi on and lightsaber your way out of the disillusionment.

We are co-creators of our reality — the time for living large has come!  We've got to get out of our own way before we expect others to.

Do you have a dream?  Then go for it!  Make it a new life resolution and not just a new year resolution (to download a copy of my manifesto, ‘New Life Resolutions', CLICK HERE).

Full Steam Ahead!

Sometimes the simplest of reminders can help us stay on course, so I'll leave you with a few timeless quotes for those patches of self-doubt that might rear in the weeks and months to come:

“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another.” Walter Elliott

“Consider the postage stamp; its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.” Josh Billings

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” Winston Churchill

“If at first you don't succeed, you're running about average.” M.H. Alderson

“No man is ever whipped, until he quits — in his own mind.” Napoleon Hill

“Defeat is simply a signal to press onward.” Helen Keller

I hope 2015 is the year that makes you truly believe in the power you possess to create your life path!  The grand adventure awaits…your life is unwritten from this point onwards.
