But with strict laws against the free use of this natural medicine, he is carefully exploring the field of dense nutrition and medicinal bee products made from the cannabis plant.
Nicolas is an artisan, a self proclaimed advocate of medical cannabis and of legalization.
“I have trained bees to do several things, such as collect sugar from fruits, instead of using flowers”.
This path led him into the world of animal biology, entomology, and cannabis growing, … improving all kinds of plants and exploring everything related to bees.
Nicolas says he has created a bee-training that encourages them to “collect the resin and use it in their beehive…. “For some time I had known about the health benefits of bee products such as honey, propolis, pollen, wax and royal jelly and also about the benefits of cannabis”.
“Everything that passes through the body of a bee is improved”, he says, given that their enzymes make the nectar turn into the desired honey.
His Inspiration…
The resin obtained from willows, poplars and other trees is turned into propolis, which is an antiseptic, antibiotic, antifungal, antibacterial and also has healing properties. “So if the bee took the resin from cannabis it would also be very beneficial”.
“The aim arose for me to get the bees to obtain this resin”, he comments.
When he began, nobody had brought together cannabis and bees. After years of research, his efforts were rewarded by being successful where others thought the coupling of these two worlds would be impossible.

“Cannahoney”
“Cannahoney”, as Nicolas like to call the product, normally has “quite a floral” aroma and a color that slightly changes depending on the varieties, although it usually ranges from light green to white or yellow.
A purely raw and nutritious product, cannahoney is not smoked. “It is ingested… and it is good for health”, explains Nicolas.
How The Bees React To Cannabis Plants… do they get “high”?
No, … the plants have no negative impact on the bees. “The bees that produce the cannahoney are not affected by cannabinoids because they do not have an endocannabinoid system” he explains.
Because the plant must be heated to change the natural plant material into a psychoactive substance, it is only possible for the bees to enjoy the dense nutritive qualities of the cannabis plants.
