This should not be in the “land of the free.” It is a sad graphic. And remember, much of your tax money is siphoned off by the cronies in industries which are connected and by those in government itself. You are basically an annuity.

Treasurer for n Michigan makes 330K a year! Shit makes me sick!!!

    •' Jeb Jebberson says:

I don’t see any reason why someone should be paid more than 40-50 grand a year.

      •' Sorgfelt says:

Most houses around where I live go for about 500K, and we consider ourselves middle class. No way can we afford to spend 120K for state subsidized college for each child and our mortgage and save for retirement on 40-50 grand.

    Cut welfare!

    •' Sorgfelt says:

“Cut welfare” is an ignorant bit of propaganda put out by the Koch brothers and their like who want to make all but themselves destitute. Only a tiny part of our taxes goes to welfare, and much of that goes to people who temporarily need it, while repeating the “cut welfare” propaganda for everyone else. The biggest share of our tax goes to warfare. That is what we need to cut.

      For the rich.

  9.' Kim Winch says:

I think every American should refuse to pay taxes, initially started as voluntary…

  10.' Robert L West says:

What are those with the greatest doing for those with the least? We wouldn’t be so reliant on an organized govt if we took better care of each other without judgement or prejudice.

These graphs are not really helpful. To be more understandable, they should show family expenses, not those of the whole country. The viewer would not have much of a chance to check the numbers out for themselves. This is one way in which statitstics can be used to misrepresent an issue. Not that this one does that, but how can you tell? Just beware.
