What’s Your Heart’s Gift for the World?

Written by on January 30, 2018 in Conscious Living, Inspirational, Meditation with 0 Comments

Can you imagine what the world would be like if Vincent Van Gogh sold real estate for a living instead of painted? There’s nothing wrong with selling real estate—I have deep respect for those who do—but that simply wasn’t Van Gogh’s gift for the world.

Van Gogh tried several different jobs before dedicating himself to his heart’s gift for the world. He tried keeping a shop, managing a gallery, even tried being a preacher. But truly he knew that his heart’s gift for the world was painting breathtaking colors onto canvas. Once he finally knew this gift and gave himself fully to it, his art blossomed in both quality and quantity and ultimately he produced a body of art that continues to mesmerize the world almost 130 years later.

What is a heart’s gift? It’s that thing a person was put on Earth to share and by so doing makes it a better, more-evolved, and more beautiful place.

Your heart’s gift is the thing that only you can offer the world, in the way that only you can offer it. Your heart’s gift can be public or private, subtle or grandiose, but it is what you were meant to share.

Can you imagine a world where everyone shared their heart’s gift?

Remember, Van Gogh only sold one of his more than 900 paintings. And here’s the thing about your heart’s gift to the world: it’s just that, a gift. You don’t give a gift expecting to be repaid. Sometimes you are repaid; sometimes your heart’s gift turns into your job. You might even find yourself on Oprah, who knows? But first and foremost, your gift is something that you offer because it makes you whole simply to give it.

Yoga and meditation are perfect mediums to help you reveal your heart’s gift because they simply reveal what already exists inside of you. These practices help you to come to know your True Self, and when you are aligned with this infinite part of you, the part that is tapped into your Universal blueprint, your purpose, your gift becomes clear to your conscious mind and so does the invitation to share it with the world.

What is your heart’s gift for the world? I invite you to practice going inward with yoga and meditation and hear what you heart is whispering to you. Find your gift for the world and share it today!
