In this video, Ralph Smart of Infinite Waters Diving Deep shares 10 Habits that Keep You Overthinking. Break these habits and your mind will be peaceful and free.
10 Habits That Make You The World's Greatest Over-thinker
1) Reading into everything. Don’t create a story about why other people do something. We can’t control others. Ask yourself why you even want to control them.
2) Taking everything personally. Thinking the universe revolves around us is a fallacy. Look at things from the bigger picture.
3) Waiting for the perfect moment. This means you think about what you’re going to do rather than act on it. Stop waiting and sitting on the sidelines. Just take radical action.
4) Judging yourself. You don’t need to be your own worst critic. Be easy.
5) Judging everyone else. This competitive mindset takes up a lot of mind space. Just be happy for people.
6) Overly identifying with your identity. Let go of the labels.
7) Reminiscing over the ‘good ‘ole days’. All anxiety comes from a desire to escape the present moment. Go out into nature and just be in this moment now. It feels good.
8) Editing yourself. Just say ‘good enough’ and move on. Don’t worry about what others think. Love yourself and get your approval from yourself. Say, “Who cares?”
9) Holding onto the past and reliving old stories. You are not your story. You can rewrite it in the present moment.
10) Obsessing over that person who got on your nerves. If you must think of those people, then do so well before bed, not at bedtime. Better yet, think of people who love and support you and whom you harmonize with.
Basically, it’s all about being in the moment and having fun.
Peace.
