What If Solar Panels Were On Every Family’s Roof? [Infographic]

The folks at 1BOG have put together a fantastic infographic that illustrates what would happen if every family in America had solar panels on their roof. Most notably, solar power would account for a staggering 1 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, saving Americans $147 billion per year.

Unfortunately, the $147 billion per year savings to the public, is also a $147 billion per year loss for the corporations. The very idea of solar panels on every family’s roof utterly terrifies them.
They intend to fight the proliferation of solar power every inch of the way. That is why they are actually stepping up their nuclear and fossil fuel agendas, and blocking or propagandizing all the information they possibly can regarding solar power to the public. Eventually they will price and/or tax it fully out of the realm of possibility for most people.
Even now, one must obtain permission from one’s local power company to install solar panels, then hire an approved licensed contractor to do it, when anyone who can climb a ladder and handle a screwdriver is capable of installing them. And only minimal knowledge of electricity is required to hook it up. This is what scares the corporations — anybody can do it. Now.
We should act while we can to obtain the necessary materials for converting to solar power. Unfortunately there is no half-way point. It is all or nothing. In order to avoid the regulations, one must first end one’s contract with the power company — go off the grid if you will.
Soon this will be impossible. It is already on the law books that interference with commerce is considered a terrorist act. The smart meters will know exactly what you are doing.
Time is growing short. Mortgage companies have new financing requirements for homes with solar power. Solar power currently has more regulations and proposed regulations on the books than nuclear power, all for supposed “safety”. (“Safety” equals corporate profits. Always. In every case.)
But unless we find a way to stop them, these regulations will soon be in place, effectively preventing average people from installing solar energy in their own homes. Solar power will become as all good things inevitably become: a right for the wealthy, unavailable to everyone else, who will remain slaves of the fossil fuel barons until nothing more can be extracted from our depleted planet.

Don’t forget that 40% of that 186 billion is payroll. Around 75 billion in salaries, health benefits, etc.
