“Consciousness creates reality,” a statement that has gained a lot of attention across various alternative media outlets around the world. Make no mistake, consciousness has been (for quite some time) studied by numerous scientists, especially in its relation to quantum physics and how it might be correlated with the nature of our reality.

What is consciousness? Consciousness includes a number of things. It’s how we perceive our world, our thoughts, being aware, our intentions and more.

“Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, director of research for the Resonance Project

“I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.”  –  Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, which won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918

“It was not possible to formulate the laws of quantum mechanics in a fully consistent way without reference to consciousness.”  Eugene Wigner, theoretical physicist and mathematician. He received a share of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1963

The statement that “consciousness creates reality” comes with a number of different questions. Does this mean we as individuals (and on a collective level as one human race) can shape and create whatever reality we’d like for ourselves? Does it mean we can manifest a certain lifestyle, and attract certain experiences? Does it happen instantly? Does it take time? How do we do it?

Although we might not be able to answer these questions with absolute scientific certainty, we do know that yes, a correlation between consciousness and our physical material world does indeed exist in some way, shape or form. The extent of that correlation (again from a modern day scientific point of view) is still not well understood, but we know of the correlation, and we know it must have some sort of significance.

“A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.”  – R.C. Henry, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University ,  “The Mental Universe” ; Nature 436:29,2005) (source)

The Science Behind The Statement “Consciousness Creates Reality”

The quantum double slit experiment is a very popular experiment used to examine how consciousness and our physical material world are intertwined. It is a great example that documents how factors associated with consciousness and our physical material world are connected in some way.

One potential revelation of this experience is that “the observer creates the reality.” A paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Physics Essays by Dean Radin, PhD, explains how this experiment has been used multiple times to explore the role of consciousness in shaping the nature of physical reality. (source)

In this experiment, a double-slit optical system was used to test the possible role of consciousness in the collapse of the quantum wave-function. The ratio of the interference pattern’s double slit spectral power to its single slit spectral power was predicted to decrease when attention was focused toward the double slit as compared to away from it. The study found that factors associated with consciousness “significantly” correlated in predicted ways with perturbations in the double slit interference pattern. (source)

Good, but that doesn’t help us understand the inner reality better. Check out this new book, it does: http://www.amazon.com/Alkuajatus-Original-Thought-Hannu/dp/9522865303/

Yes, good article. Maybe we can’t manifest things instantly because our brains don’t work like that. They have rigidity as well as plasticity, to ensure stability of consciousness, and memory, which is what links us across time. When the cells of the brain die, that is the loss of memory. Our energy remains, because it cannot be created or destroyed. Back to the point in the article about not being able to manifest physical changes straight away, there would need to be a connection across time to make that happen. And without that, what you are trying to manifest won’t happen. Applicable to physical things such as palaces too.

  6. The last election day
It was an afternoon of a day few where still counting
It was a year where years no longer meant the same
Politicians and hundreds and hundreds of uniformed people
Were running everywhere and shouting at each other
With The illusion of transforming their own reality through others
We do not know if it was the hit of the petals of a rose against the wind
We do not know if it was a butterfly strolling through the ruins of the past
We do not know if it was a dog with a contagiously smile
But we know that each and one of us has its time
And when they entered the buildings to vote on that day finally after centuries
Those hundreds stopped, breathed and looked around
And what they saw was not new for the now released vast majority
But for them, stuck in that little perceptions world of ego and evil
    It was a great commotion
It was the final moment of that whole election euphoria, when they notes
It was at the exact second they were putting their fake choice from others to them
They stopped to look at the world and saw that it was not there
They were only a few hundreds surrounded by crumbling buildings
They were dressed in tattered suits and paper
They fed on canned creams out of date
They just saw a foot in front of the nose
They were blinded by the false cities dreams.
They existed within a tilt, a circle of vile vanities
They city was now a small ruin surrounded by green and life
By organic villages without religion or industry or politics
By self-sustaining houses and people responsible for their existence.
Free men and free animals sharing the planet with great comfort and safety and joy
The Utopia and impossible of the system that had been taught us everything backwards
    Were simply abandoned.
Ignorance of uniform insanity that brought disease and violence have been abandoned.
One by one the people were becoming aware and abandoning concepts they have been manipulated to live, to love, to believe so validate.
One by one each in its way. A kind of domino effect
    They just awake…
They did not need religion, because the conscience knows what is right and wrong love and lovelessness
They did not need industry because the conscience knows to feed without damaging
They did not need governments, because consciousness knows how to exist
They found out the conscience was the only one capable of managing this planet.
They just needed the courage to do what conscience was already saying
John woke up one day to work looked out the balcony of his small apartment visualized the concreteness of his building and his life and realized…
He took his love of hand and never showed up at work, was to find his way.
Peter was driving a bus. He heard a discussion.
He realized that people discussing that discussion weren’t there. He understood…
He parked the bus. He was never seen there again.
Families began to make their homes self-sustaining houses even against government prohibitions
Buildings were recycled or simply abandoned
Everyone doing the same thing in the same place fighting for space to do that
Was exchanged for people taking care of their own lives.
Discovering the planet and each other. With comfort and balance and safety.
The negativity of the planet has been gradually replaced by positive life and harmony
Manipulators and vampires and ritualistic finally tried directly
Destroy this feared and notorious freedom
They were decimated by the force of love of the united majority
Those who every time that read something new. Said it was crazy and impossible
Those that every time the network announced a new remedy a new idol, bought
Those who hated each other and believe in the false choices of the system, politics, education…
Those who were now amazed at the life that they finally stopped to look
They were still the dark side of humanity and we all were waiting for the day they freely abandon that mind prison, that vicious game and come to enjoy life in all its beauty with the rest of us.
No one thought it would be on an election day.

  9. JB Clark JB Clark says:

No matter how many times this article is repeated or reworded under a new title it still is a dubious unsubstantiated claim. Consciousness is related to physics because in order to relate to the science of physics (quantum or not) you must 1st possess consciousness. Same goes for the “matter” that makes up this universe….in order to perceive this “matter” you require consciousness. By this rationale it is easy to see that the unconscious (or brain dead) being percieves no “matter” or no “physics” (quantum or not) but that beings lack of consciousness doesn’t stop that “matter” or physics (quantum or not) from existing for the other 7 billion of us. By the same token just because a person has never been to Paris, France and never goes there it doesn’t mean that Paris doesn’t really exist. Consciousness is a projection of the brain….it’s what the brain does, plain and simple. It creates thoughts……not “matter”.

    • Hi JB Clark. What do you think we will know about the brain, universe, god, the meaning of life, etc in 1,000 years. We will be seen like the people 1,000 years ago. I suspect the world will be an entirely different place and a lot of the information we have now will be see to be “the world is flat thinking”. Very exciting times ahead. Kind regards.

    • JB Clark JB Clark says:

Steve Grant….I couldn’t agree more, very exciting times indeed – however, we must temper our excitement with reason and logic. In the future we may very well be seen as “flat world thinking” but what is even worse is “fairytale thinking” due to our ignorance. Jumping to the wrong conclusion can be disastrous (as man-made religions demonstrate painfully). Isn’t an honest answer like “I don’t know, YET” a better position? …..I like to think so. Be well!

    • Many believe that consciousness exists outside the brain and that the brain acts as a receiver.. Like a radio tuning into a station.. Turn the radio off, the station still exists..
I don’t know how common it is to believe your brain is creating things out of thin air, if that’s what you’re saying.. I think more people subscribe to a variation of the idea that you are tuning into a reality.. So when they say you control your reality, it means you have the ability to tune into one of an infinite number of realities, not wish matter into existence

    • JB Clark JB Clark says:

Derek Murphy….I hear what you are saying. It is telling to me that when a person’s brain becomes damaged ( through trauma or disease) the person experiences memory loss and loss of cognitive functions that sometimes never return. If this “consciousness ” is somehow disconnected from brain functions and transmitted from elsewhere wouldn’t their memories, cognitive functions, problem solving, etc reside there as well, unharmed and intact? The fact they don’t seems to be lead me to reason that consciousness is a projection of the brain. We also don’t have a single example of consciousness existing without a brain.

      • thefamilyoneill@virginmedia.com' Ryan O'Neill says:

Does the radio make sense when damaged, can the information from the radio be affected and non-coherent. In this case is the radio presenter damaged, or the radio?

We use the brain in other words and damage just means that operation in this reality is limiting the consciousness, not the other way around.

They call it the hard problem for a reason, interesting how some think they know the answers using logic and reason, where Science does not. 😀

  10. Reality is already there consciousness just tunes into it. Be it past reality, present reality or future reality. Time is just a measure of everything already there.

  13. Everything is material… This is bs… Even light is made of particles. There even such a thing as anti matter. Its either space or matter and thats the beauty of it

  15. Listen to Neville Goddard on youtube he is a brilliant meta physician, and he has the answer to your question “How do we do it”?

  16. Well, when man finally realizes he is a soul using a body made of dust and water to fulfill his dreams as a being of light from the one Light that became it all and that the Universe is just a shell which allows him/her to play around in, then maybe man will finally see all the physics was never really important to begin with? It was always all about real love and sharing that with each other from the beginning. God knows it all anyway, as the one Light. Doubtful there is anything I or you can do to impress God when it comes to our knowledge, because God always knew it anyway, BUT I think the Almighty is always impressed when we reach out in love and support to each other. That must always catch Him by surprise?

  17. a certain position would figure the centre as us even in as much as an equal amalagram and inopposition to the vastness withou[in space]t. What they mean when they say spiritual is that they still can’t figure out the locus point of how mentality and consciousness and observance directs the quanta scales to manifest from non-nothingness’, -the many guidelines of statistico-probability TO concreteness in correct disposition or presence to outside interactionals, evenly seemingly moving without regard to causal time delineation and that unknown conformer from sensed consciousness

  18. DarontFelde@hotmail.com' Weldon Roitman says:

So why is this relevant? It s relevant because new physics, as mentioned above, is pointing to the fact that the observer shapes the reality. The way we think and perceive could be  responsible and play a vital role in the physical construct we see in front of us.
