Every day this week, the former legislators presided over panels made up of academics and — former, of course — government and military officials, who were there to discuss their research or their own eyewitness accounts of unidentified flying objects and the extraterrestrials who presumably would have occupied them.
UFO author and historian Richard Dolan interviewed “Anonymous” on March 5, 2013. Facing impending kidney failure, this individual felt compelled to disclose secret information he feels is too important to keep secret. “Anonymous” alleges that, after an invasion threat from President Dwight Eisenhower, he and his superior at the CIA were allowed inside the secretive Area 51 in Nevada to gather intel and report back to the president. There, “Anonymous” describes seeing several alien spacecraft, including the craft that crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. Then, he and his superior were taken to the S-4 facility southwest of Area 51 where they observed live extraterrestrials.

At the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., a Citizen Hearing On Disclosure (CHD) will unfold between April 29 to May 3. For 30 hours, 40 international researchers and military/agency witnesses will testify in front of these committee members.
Between April 29 and May 3, up to forty researchers and military/government witnesses will testify to the reality of the UFO phenomenon and extraterrestrial visitation before former members of the United States Congress and Senate. This is the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure. It is the brainchild of political activist Stephen Bassett.
The FBI says its most viewed public record is a memo from 1950 recounting a strange story someone told an agent about three “flying saucers” that were allegedly recovered in New Mexico.
“What we are going to do is bring the largest concentration of witnesses ever assembled in one place, at one time, and they are going to testify exactly as if they were in a real congressional hearing,” Bassett explained. Former members of Congress are being tapped to run the hearings, while witnesses, including former astronaut (and sixth man on the moon) Edgar Mitchell, are coming in from around the world.”
People who spend any time considering the UFO phenomena seem to fall into roughly three groups: the definitive believers (or “paranormalists”, to use the more recent term), the skeptics, and the debunkers.
Never has there been widely accepted positive proof of an extraterrestrial spacecraft, though there are those who believe various government agencies around the world have conspired to hide the truth. Now, however, if someone can prove otherwise, they will be $100,000 richer.
A mysterious illuminated object appeared without warning in the dark sky above the world’s largest oil refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat. It circled over the complex before disappearing just as suddenly as it had appeared. Three days later, the object returned, this time a little after dawn.
“Over the years we have chased many many many of these things, maybe not with the visibility this one has gotten, and have rarely if ever been able to pinpoint exactly where they came from, and always finding out that it didn’t pose us any hazard. ” – Wayne Hale, Space Shuttle Program Manager
In the work of any great mystery, reason must lead. We must consider the facts and develop theories that conform to what we know. But within ufology, that most stern and inscrutable taskmaster, even the most dedicated students sometimes find themselves groping in the dark. We don’t have all the answers. As I like to say, and as one of my favorite authors has written, we must become comfortable with uncertainty.
