Dr. Mercola: Researchers have repeatedly confirmed the superior health benefits of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) compared to traditional and typically performed aerobic workouts. High-intensity interval-type training gives a natural boost to human growth hormone (HGH) production—which is essential for optimal health, strength and vigor—and has been shown to significantly improve insulin sensitivity, boost fat loss, and increase muscle growth.

According to Ayurveda, the 5,000 year-old system of mind, body, and spirit holistic health, if you’re anywhere in the world where winter is transitioning into spring, it’s Kapha season. The earth is damp and it’s no coincidence that the elements associated with Kapha are water and earth.
While every living thing, whether plant, animal or human, is comprised of all five elements–ether, air, fire, water and earth–there is usually a predominance of one or two elements in each individual’s constitution. Hunger and malnutrition are man-made. Chemical fertilizers, which are essentially poison, undermine food security by destroying the fertility of soil by killing the biodiversity of soil organisms, friendly insects that control pests and pollinators like bees and butterflies necessary for plant reproduction and food production.

This may come as a surprise to some, but data collected from over 60,000 Canadians show that obesity leads to more doctor visits than smoking.
The idea that being overweight can be worse for your health than smoking is likely to make many balk, considering how “normal” it has become to carry around extra pounds, but in terms of overall health effects and subsequent health care costs, it’s likely true.
