After considering the true meaning of happiness, Polly highlights several uniquely human emotions—shame, guilt, envy, and jealousy—that pose as obstacles to this happiness and offers solutions to overcome these emotions.
The mind is a tool to be used and directed according to one’s wishes. An out of control mind, one that has become your master instead of your servant, is both an incredible waste of energy as well as being a potentially damaging and limiting influence on your life. A voice in your head that you are unable to control or channel into a meaningful direction is a form of insanity, but one that we have become so used to and accepting of that we no longer recognize as such.

Most people think of the tulip as the poster flower of spring. But for me, it’s the ranunculus. The first time I laid eyes on this precious flower was not in a garden bed but at my corner market in New York City many years ago. When I saw the little tissue paper flowers it was love at first sight. People yearn to see a field of tulips or sunflowers but I dream of running through a valley filled with ranunculus one day.
I can’t help but compare these flowers to our own blossoming in the spring and the emergence of our creativity in all its glory. Ayurveda teaches that we are comprised of all the same elements as everything in nature. If we honor this truth and go with the flow, miraculous things will happen. Those ideas that were germinating while we were hibernating and resting over the winter will unfold just like the petals of the ranunculus.

As the call of the whales continued to sound through the music, I suddenly got it: I was having a multi-dimensional experience of swimming with whales in the 5th Dimension. A connection had been opened through the ether, but the experience was being amplified through 3rd Dimensional experiences. Absolutely profoundly blissful!
