Many of us have heard that with the Law of Attraction our thoughts become things. As a result, we often believe we need to start thinking more thoughts about the things we want. However, overthinking can actually push our dreams away from us.
Could you use some new positive affirmations to start the day off right?
There is a common discussion in the tantric world where some say that tantra is not about sex, it is a spiritual path. This is very true. It’s like yoga. There is nothing interesting about being able to do full lotus or to balance on your arms. This kind of technology would not have been handed down in secrecy from teacher to student for millennia these physical abilities were the only goal.
Everything is energy; this is not a new concept and is considered to be simple science. But a fundamental certainty we aren’t often taught is that while the energies of the Universe are forever reacting to one another in one shape or form, and the forces behind these interactions are electric and/or magnetic, these forces also exist within each and every one of us and are as much responsible for our individual emotional growth and spiritual awareness as they are for the expansion of the cosmos.
The golden rule is probably the most vital, positive, constructive principle in the world (in both a spiritual and practical sense) and it’s always been just sitting there right before us, waiting for us to notice it, take it and use it. It’s likely we even heard about it from our mother or family when we were children. There in the recesses of our mind is this incredible, powerful, yet simple, universal, commonsensical means of developing true spirituality, improving our lives and the lives of others.
We may not stop to consider how damaging or hindering our own thoughts about things, people, and events from our past can affect not only our present lives but our future as well. If we hold onto guilt, regret, anger, or shame for things we did or didn’t do; things others said or didn’t say, it is US that keep ourselves locked in a prison in our own minds.
If left to it’s own devices, the Ego can become one of the most chaotic and confusing things in your life. Especially if you have to deal with someone who has unconsciously let their own Ego run rampant and out of control. On the flip-side, however, the Ego can also be quite simplified and subjected to only a single role, and if used properly can be one of the best tools in your spiritual toolbox. That single role is that it can and will always show you those parts of yourself that still need to be looked at, healed and integrated into your heart.
The person you attract to you in an intimate relationship is no mistake. They are perfect for you right now. They may not be perfect for you forever but in this moment, you attracted them and were attracted to them for a reason. The best you can do to prepare yourself for relationship with a potential romantic partner is to cultivate a loving and compassionate relationship with your self and clear whatever might be in the way of you giving and receiving love.
Are you one of those people who aims for goals, but forgets to celebrate when you reach them? If so, this video is for you (and since I’m that way sometimes, it’s also for me). In it, I tell a short story of a young couple and their dog that reminded me how important it is to celebrate the little victories in our lives.
