Venus will conjunct Jupiter on August 3-5, 2015, at 4 degrees in the sign of Leo. The conjunction of these two teacher planets is called dwi-guru yoga. (Jupiter is the teacher of the gods, and Venus is the teacher of the demons.) This combination may present us with an opportunity to learn and gain understandings from two different perspectives or levels of awareness.
Most people relate Aquarius to freedom, but what does that really mean? Freedom is a funny and fickle thing. Like most concepts or ideals, it is also incredibly vast in translation and probably every person you would ask to define it would say slightly different or very different, things. I know that I used to think it meant I had the ability to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted! Turns out, that kind of freedom, what I now call material freedom, was a lot of work… if I wanted the freedom to eat whatever I wanted, then I had to be able to buy it and also exercise later. If I wanted to go wherever I wanted, then I needed transportation and funding. With each “freedom” I desired, came a responsibility to sustain that choice. And sometimes, the work did not weigh equal to the reward.
It is typical for love relationship issues to arise during Venus retrograde, or even in the month leading up to it during the “shadow phase.” Many couples experience a period of re-evaluation and/or begin to look at things in a new light.
This week is dominated by two astrological squares. Now, a square is when two planets are at right angles to one another, and this can cause a certain amount of abrasive energy
The week begins with the Sun, Mercury and Mars all in the sign of Cancer
I am not saying we have to sit around and feel like crap all the time. I am saying that in honor of the new moon we allow the space to feel and feel big together. We set a sacred space, create a safe container, where we can allow the feelings to rise, and allow them to fall. We allow ourselves to speak or write our pain, and to witness, with a wide open heart, the pain of another, without the Cancerian tendency to “fix” it or mute it. We allow ourselves to open to the pain of the world, not just in our little bubble. And we breathe, oh yes, we breathe into it and we allow the pain to break down the walls, boundaries and confines of the inner shells. We allow pain like a tidal wave to knock us out of ego and into each other. We begin to sense the connection between every sentient being on this great blue-green ball in the sky and we hold each other. We hold our pain and we allow it to transform.
The week begins with Mars and Mercury still in contact with the dreamy energies of Neptune
The week begins with the Moon combining with Neptune in Pisces, on Monday
Vedic Astrology for July 2015: In the month of July both benefic planets, Venus and Jupiter, transit the last few degrees of Cancer, before they move into the sign of Leo. First, Venus will transit into the sign of Leo, late on July 4, 2015, followed by Jupiter shifting into Leo the evening of July 13, 2015. As these two planets shift signs, they will be going from a water sign (Cancer) to a fire sign (Leo), through the critical degrees called gandanta (29 degrees Cancer to 1 degree Leo). Gandanta means “knot,” and when planets pass through these junctures we are given opportunities for deep soul growth.
There are many differences between Vedic Astrology and the more commonly known system practiced here in the West – Tropical Astrology, also known as Western Astrology. Vedic Astrology has been practiced for many thousands of years. The earliest writings can be found in the Vedas – the ancient spiritual texts of the Hindus and the oldest books in existence, written 5,000 – 8,000 years ago. Its Indian name is Jyotish, which means “science of light” because it is the science of observing the celestial bodies that reflect their energy and light upon the Earth, therefore influencing the course of human events.
The beautiful thing about Capricorn, our full moon leader opening the month of July, is that, once firmly on her path, she’s pretty much unshakable, no matter what obstacles come her way.
The week begins with the Sun and Mars getting more established in the sign of Cancer
The week begins with the Sun finding its feet in the sign of Cancer
We are coming upon a moment when the energy is at its max, when the moon will wax and the sun is high and all is illuminated. In these moments we seek clarity. In these moments we desire truth, revelation, revolution. At this time, we will feel the urge to do something huge and to step into our power in a big way.
The week begins with Saturn, the planet of structure, reversing backwards into Scorpio.
