3-minute Earth and space weather news January 5, 2013:

• The day began with a 7.7 Earthquake off the coast of Alaska – 63 miles west of Craig, a town on Prince of Wales Island, and 208 miles south of the capital of Juneau.
• There is a NASA website explaining Chemtrails called “Contrail Education.”
• Human CO2 is merely on small piece of the climate puzzle. Global warming should be renamed climate extremes – like the deadly cold waves in Europe, Russia, and India for the second year in a row.
• Tropical storm Sonamu in the South China Sea is already affecting Viet Nam.
• The sun is juiced up after a comet made a close approach, and has already begun firing CMEs.
• Cosmic ray density is holding steady – still a little bit high.
• There was an M class solar flare from high up in the corona and behind the sun.
• There are two sunspots of primary concern
